I would like to see Wanted also. But it will be quite a while before the theaters up here get it. They seem to be about one to two months behind everywhere else.
Joe,
We haven't had a drive in movie theater up here for the past 30 years and no A&W or other type drive ins since late in the 60s. I really miss them as they were a lot of fun and a great place to meet and just have a good time.
Edit: The latest on the fires around here: http://recordsearchlight.com/news/20...shasta-county/

Yowzer! Sounds like you are surrounded by fires! I'll do a little rain dance for you, but make sure you have a long garden hose.
Well, I'm one day older. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Yesterday was foggy and humid all day. Felt like it was raining, but it was not.
Great to see Ms K back posting on the site.
Tru - 3/4 inch angle iron for a pedal stop? Boy, do you have a heavy right foot. I'm assuming you are talking about the Cobra and not the log splitter from hell.
Oooops, I almost forgot. GMA

Warren,
That lousy day you felt yesterday was not the weather. It is you getting older.
As for the garden hoses I have two 100' ones out and ready to spray the roof and house at any time. Yesterday afternoon the smoke lifted enough for them to get in a few runs with the bombers. If it will stay that way today, maybe they can make some progress on the closest ones.
Edited to add attachments: See pictures of Bomberand fire.

Log splitter from Hell???? It just has some rules associated with it.
48 this morning. No driving the cobra to work.
Yeah, I am going to stop at the hardware store and get the metal tonight...I think.
HLC, very busy as usual, best of luck to the boys and their endevors...all 77 miles of it. I remember the fifty and that was bad enough.
Ron, perhaps you should go into town and see the movie. Get that fire off your mind.
Well Joe, there is one drivin I know of in the area. You are welcome to come to Michigan so you can do the drivin thingy.

Is this one the closest to you ?
Whiskeytown Complex:
Four wildfires on Shasta Bally have charred nearly 4,000 acres and are about 16 percent contained, a U.S. Forest Service spokesman said Sunday evening.
"It's been a pretty productive day," he said.
Park officials cleared the Oak Bottom campground and beach to make room for a fire camp. The Oak Bottom public boat launch was opened Saturday and will stay open with Oak Bottom Marina and stores. Across the lake, Brandy Creek Beach and Marina and the Whiskey Creek Launch will remain open.

I may be getting older, but I do not feel it.
Great pics, especially the fire at night. Did you take those pics?
That reminds me ... I want to buy a pressure washer. I know the gas powered ones are "better/more powerful" than the electric ones, but I want an electric version for the convenience, lower noise, no winterizing, smaller size, etc.
Anyone have any suggestions? I found a couple of articles on the web, and they say that Campbell Hausfeld makes good pressure washers.

Tru - 48°F ??? Its 77°F here.
You still did not answer my question about the throttle stop. Is that for the Cobra or the nice underpowered, kind and gentle wood splitter?
If its the Cobra, and you did not have full WOT, you need to be whipped!
I sent you an e-mail. Let me know what you want me to do. (OK, let the flames begin).

If you want a realistic movie, you will not like it. Kinda makes me think of Live Action meets Comic Book, but well done, not like most of the superhero movies lately, but there is not a real superhero overlay to it.
I am normally the one who says OK BS, that is not realistic, there is no way..., etc..., but I did not do that at all, even in the unrealistic parts. It was just a well done movie. Very entertaining and starting from the beginning it was action.

Warren - Late Happy Birthday! I don't think you will catch up to me.
Kristen - you jogged some memories loose in my brain - I did two weeks
of hiking in Philmont in 1958. Great place. Ask your son if he hiked to the
wrecked airplane. I'm not sure if they still go to the site, it was just a pile
of bent up aluminum but interesting.

Fred,
No the Whiskey town Complex Fire is about 15 miles from me. There were two just across the river over by the dam but they have now joined and became one and they are about 7 miles from me. The one just up the freeway 2 miles they have out now. I am really tired of the smoke and wish it would go away, but if we got wind to blow it out of here then it would spread the darn fires even more. The bombers are really flying today as they have found a hole in the smoke where the spotter planes can guide them in.
As for the pictures of the bomber and fire that I posted, no I never took them. That is the fire over by the dam and was taken by some other person and sent into the paper. They have started blocking off the highway to the dam as just to many people are getting in the way.

Why do you need a throttle stop on the Cobra?

If you only drove the car twice a year, you would be scared of it too. Most Holley carbs have an integral stop, but Tru said he was adding a 3/4 inch angle iron for a stop. Like I said before, Tru walks with a limp do to that 400 pound right foot.
Time to go to Lowe's and buy me a pressure washer. Maybe go to a cruise night. Just had a thunderstorm and it stopped. Everything drying out.

Warren,
Since I haven't seen Tru's Cobra I don't know what his linkage is like but couldn't he just adjust that so when he smashes it all the way to the floor the carb doesn't open all the way? Or is it the floor boards he is trying to protect? I can adjust my linkage so that even when I have it to the floor it won't even open the secondaries if I want it that way. But I like to watch that money gush through the carb.
Just got home from the shooting range and am looking at buying a smaller version of my 9 Mil. I am going to try it out the next time I am over there. Very light and can be easily carried in the holster slid into a pocket. I had thought about a 45 but I just can't find one that will fit right and feel good in my small hands. And I picked up 250 rounds of ball ammo to have just in case. I need to get some more of the heavier grain stuff.

Warren,
Now is the time to rush down and buy a controlling stock in G.M. or Ford. Then when and IF they become solvent again you can have one of a kind special cars made just for you. Just think of you and Jay Leno comparing your car collections.
