Recently I was asked to play in a golf outing.
At first I said, "Naaahhh...." Then my friend said to me, "Come on, it's for handicapped and blind kids".
Then I thought.......... $HIT -- I could win this thing!!!

Tru,
The last couple of weeks have been in the mid 80's, and it has been humid many of the days. They start out nice in the mid 60's but shoot up in a hurry.
This morning was foggy and its still overcast with temp about 87°F at the house and about 91°F inland a few miles. Went out at 2PM. Decided that my 74°F bedroom was a good place for me. Too sticky for a ride today.
Edit for Fred - time to go eat my corn for supper. Ummmm good. Picked yesterday.

Yep,boil about a dozen ears of yellow sweet corn.Pull out a pair of "corn stabbers" and a stick of butter plus a shaker of salt.

No Fred, No.
Never boil the corn - it takes a lot of nutrients out of the corn. I steam them, or better yet, wrap in foil and cook on the grill.
Corn stabbers are a must. I bought a great stainless steel set from grilllovers.com.
"I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray instead of real butter and "salt substitute" (got to watch my figure). Got back on my diet and lost 6 pounds in July. Only 3 ears for me last night with a couple of baked cod fish cakes and some fat free home-made tarter sauce. Maybe a steak and corn tonight.
Why is your little running froggie wearing diapers?
It's about 66°F outside. What's the temp down in Texas now? About 90°F ? Too bad its not a dry heat like Phoenix? Who are they kidding. 110°F is hell, even if its 0% humidity.

Modesty ?? I doubt it. I'm bettting on my cooking.
Got all the way down to 82 this morning, was 103 yesterday.
We don't have any of that wimpy dry heat here.We try for 80% humidy, really helps bump that heat index up.
Heat index today is suppose to hit 108-110.

It is just supposed to be in the mid to upper 90s here today. The smoke is still thick enough that it blocks some of the sun's heat. But it is getting less and less as the fires are being put out and once it is gone then we will have the full force of our Summer heat.

Fred, go ahead and just cook that corn anyway you want.
That is some of the best eating...fresh corn on the cob with real butter and light salt.
I think I am going to try that this weekend, we have corn about ready to be picked.
Took the Cobra out and drove up to have dinner with Terry Mason and his wife. Ate well and had really good conversations. I like it when I get a good day in for the crappy ones I have had...yesterday evening was a good ending to the day.

Hope your corn is as good as the ears I had tonight with my filet mignon steak and potatoes. And the seedless watermelon was a nice dessert. Want to go to a picnic tomorrow in the Cobra about 70 miles away, but it is supposed to rain hard starting about noontime. Guess I'll bring an umbrella if I go.

Wow, a nice morning here this morning. Even the smoke has thinned out to almost nothing. Now I guess the sun can get through and we will stop having the nice, cool, 95/103 degree days. But that smoke was to much. Over 5 weeks of it. I would go for a drive today if I had a car and if I could afford the gas. Guess I will watch the Nationwide race today. It can't be worse than that farce they put on at Indy last weekend.

Glad to hear the smoke is lifting. I'm just waiting to see if the picnic in Cow Hampshire is ON or canceled. There is a good chance of thunderstorms starting about 1 PM (what else is new). July was the 6th "wettest" in Boston area since 1920 when they started keeping records.
Temp is currently 73 and going to skyrocket up to about 79°F today. No rain tomorrow (I hope) with temp about 80°F. Gee, I wish I had some of that 110 degree weather that has been suffocating Texas, Arizona and your area of Northern CA.

Thats too hot to take a ride in the Cobra or on the Harley (or even on the Ho Sisters ). Stay cool and drink plenty of water if you are foolish enough to go outside.

I have been so busy.
It is supposed to be 104* - 105* with a heat index on @110* today.
I hear the devil went down to Georgia, because it was too damn hot for him to stay in Texas any longer.

Fred,
It will be a week or more before the air is back into the safe level. We are still getting some smoke from a couple of fires North West of us, but nothing at all compared to the last 5 1/2 weeks. They consider safe here as 14 PPm of whatever they measure and it has been over 320 for a long time. I think yesterday it had dropped all the way to just around 100 PPm. Heck, I could ever see the sun clearly. The mop up of hot spots around here will also continue to put some crap in the air for another few weeks, but this is like a vacation right now.
Edit To Add:
This picture is a little darker than most of the days were, but if I tried to use the flash it was like taking a flash through the window. The smoke wasn't quite that black, but the ash in it got all over my camera in jsut the few minutes I was trying to find where the sun was.

Home now and just woke up. Stayed out talking with the neighbors last night. Going out tonight to a friends birthday BBQ, and then on Sunday (anniversary) we are going to a movie and then go play at Dave and Busters for a while.

New Jeersey help
Does anyone know how hard it is to get through NJ DMV with a Superformance car. Either purchased and titled out of state or new build.
Also, can anyone recommend a builder in NJ

Ron,
I was playing with my iPhone.I can get local weather & forecast programed into it.
I have Redding in it now.Is that the closest town to you ?
I tried Lake Shasta and it started putting out some rather rude comments.

Just sent him a PM suggesting posting a new thread on the Superformance forum.
