Getting passing rain showers all day so far today. It will rain for about 15-20 min and then stop for an hour, rinse, repeat. Nothing heavy, but I will take it. I just hope we are getting the rain out at the house too.

Warren,

I received the paper that you sent today. You do really have some great historical places around that area. I believe we have you topped in National Parks, but not in real historical places as we have Sutters Fort and Marshall's mill where the Gold Rush started, but not a lot of real historical places like you do. I have and do spend a lot of time in our parks and I like them all. Yosemite is probably the one that I spent less time in as unless you like rock climbing, it doesn't take to many trips to see most of it. I like Kings Canyon, Sequoia, and The Redwoods and of course Lassen. But I believe my favorite was always Sequoia as I could go out among those huge trees and find bark that had fallen off as big as some of the trees you have back there. And standing among those huge trees and thinking about their ages really makes you feel kind of humble and new to the planet. I won't say that your trees are all small, but how many do you have that they have the track team do their one mile runs around?

Ron

Just stepped outside for a bit and damn it is raining, but humid as hell. Outside feels like you are walking into a sauna.

The good news is I am being taken out to Bob's Steak and Chop house http://www.bobs-steakandchop.com/ for dinner tonight has a thank you for the project I was working on 2 weeks ago.

Ron - Glad you liked the old Historical Insert. It had a lot of articles that was not in the other one. Yes, you got me beat as far as National Parks. I've been out in CA twice and Oregon, Idaho and Colorado once each, and with every visit I've always checked out the parks.

Joe - you want some rain? I've got plenty. Great for the cukes but there is so much it has killed half of my tomato plants.

Tru - I finished. Yea!

I did. I got the 12 ounce Fillet and their smashed potatoes. They are smashed with the skin still on and loaded with sour cream, butter and some very nice seasoning.

Sounds good Joe, but what kind of veggies did you have? Hopefully not anything the color of orange!

Another day of rain today Guess I'll have to do some stuff inside the house.

Color of Orange does not bother me. I had carrots with it and they were delicious. I also had a Shrimp Bisque soup that was just delectable.

Got home last night afterwards to no power. It seems that someone is always blowing through the stoplight out of control when it rains and hitting the power pole. They have to shut off the whole town to fix it. Speed limit drops to 50 in the E-W direction and to 45 in the Northbound direction (dead ends at the intersection. The pole is across the street from the northbound direction.

The wife was upset because 2 of her favorite shows were on last night and she couldn't watch them.

Joe,

If they have room and it is possible it sounds as if they need to relocate that power pole a few feet away from that spot. Or put a barrier around it made out of old railroad rails.

Sounds as if your night out was very nice. Congratulations.

Ron

Ron, I think you are going to be the first person on the site to reach 20k posts...just noticed you were moving up there.

It was just a little while ago you were at the big 10k.

I would rather have Itchy hemorrhoids than eat Sour Cream. Maybe using it as a preparation (H) would be a better use.

Okra and squash for Steve and Joe
Sour cream for Fred

Anyone else want to chime in with their least favorite food?

Hey ... how can you tell when sour cream goes bad?

Boy, we are in the middle of a massive amount of global warming .. its now all the way up to 62°F.

Joe,
Sounds like you had a great night out.

We got about thirty seconds of rain here. Just enough to make it more humid than ever.
