Fred,
That is impressive. After listening to the Colonel who is the pilot of the primary plane last night, it is a very tense and demanding job. Even if I was a pilot I don't think I would want that job.

Yes I did. Very interesting show. The History Channel is one of my top five watched channels. It used to be the Hitler Channel but they have really added a ton of great programing over the last two years.
Boy, the temp outside is all the way up to 62°F. Guess I'll have to go outside and find something to do. Seeing as my to-do list is back-printed, I will not have any problem.

I am related to Jessie and Frank James.
How about that for a claim to fame.

GMA everyone.
I didn't watch any bit of the crap on TV last night. It seems when they put stuff like that on TV every channel has the same thing on ... and none of it is worth watching.
I do not trust Obama or any of his clan. They have nothing to say I am interested in.
Yea, I worry about four more years of Bush. But if McCain does win the election, does anyone think it will be just like it is now. Not trying to start a political argument here amongst friends. I am just curious, really. I know (or at least I hear) he voted with Bush 95% of the time and Bush has screwed up a lot, for sure. But, really what can we expect if McCain does win?

I see we are wondering off topic again.
The topic of this thread is no topic at all, so holding a discussion of a sustained topic means we are on topic and that is not the topic of this thread.

GMA,
Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008. I am tired, sleepy, and rather sick. This could be a good day for me. Got a call last night from a friend and he wants me to come by his house today and take a look at their phones. He said they are having a lot of static. Guess I will drag out the old suitcase of tools and go check at the interface box first to see which way the problem is. My guess would be the wiring toward the house as I think he ran in in a rather easy place for squirrels and mice to get to. A quick 500 volt jolt should show up any shorts.

GME
Ron, get some sleep, or take a few naps.
Its 53°F outside. Fall has arrived. Now that I've said it, we will probably get a week of 100+ temps.
My local elementary school is having a yard sale next month, so they are looking for donations. Guess its time to clean out and donate. I can think of quite a few things that will be donated.

Warren,
You aren't thinking of donating Turtle and getting a Frog are you? I doubt the Ho Sisters would like the competition. Fred said they really like you.
Tru,
Thought of you when I received this.
Just because I think this is funny and I love The Cat in the Hat --- not because I think you are old...
Fw: The Cat in the Hat on Aging
Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.
The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1990. They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
The CD was introduced two years before they were born.
They have always had an answering machine .
They have always had cable.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They never heard: 'Where's the Beef?', 'I'd walk a mile for a Camel', or 'de plane Boss, de plane'.
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter .
Do you feel old yet? (Sorry) Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading.
Ron

Ron, wash your mouth out with soap. I paid $100 for turtle. If anybody gave one of the Humpin' Ho Sisters $100 they would probably dump Fred in a heartbeat. Hell, he even rented Frenchy out to Tru so he could cop a feel for free.
As far as the Cat in The Hat goes, let me read you a story before you take a nap ......

Well back from checking my friends telephone to see why it is noisy.A rat has chewed through the cable going into his house and it has to be replaced. The rat also is dead, from what I don't know. So I made a deal with him. I need the brakes on the car adjusted and I am going to leave it at his garage tomorrow and I will replace his rat for him. Since I had no plans for tomorrow this works out perfectly.

Is this an African rat, European Rat or Brown Asian Rat?
Do you propose to deliver the rat after the brake adjustment or before? Delivering the wrong rat may negate the deal and cause distress in your relationship with your friend.
I propose you fix the phone and offer the Brown Asian rat. They seem to be the more prized of rats...other than the white rats found in labs.

You might get some extra work done on your car if you take over a dozen Roof Rats and this recipe...
Bumper sicker seen on roof rat gourmet vehicles :
Roof Rats taste as good as they smell!
ROOF RAT PIE
Take 4 potatoes, boil, mash, season, add cream, line 8" pie shell with them.
Boil six medium sized Roof Rats.
If the rodents are the right size, you should have 2 cups of rat meat (depending if you've cleaned the carcasses well enough.) Season with salt, pepper, cayenne, add l cup blanched, chopped almonds, l cup cracker crumbs, l egg, (reserve l tsp for topping) making a burger. OPTIONAL: bell pepper, onions, cilantro, parsley, thyme, oregano, l can creamed corn.
Fill the pie. Cover with more potatoes. Use egg/cream to wipe down pie so it toasts brownish in oven.
Remember, a rabbit is just a big rodent. The taste of the flesh is identical. Ask any concentration camp visitor.
TIP: when cooking Roof Rats, pre-soaking up to 5 hours helps take away that pesky rodent flavor. AND the longer you cook it, with the other ingredients, the better.
