Even if it was a limited production, the paint scheme is from the mid 90s, but he has a Nextel Cup decal which was only 05-07. Kinda a mismatch.

WHO IS JACK SCHITT?

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt?

We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt'!

Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way.

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, who married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc.

They had one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.

Now when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt', you can correct them.

Sincerely,
Crock O. Schitt

Very well stated Fred. Now how about doing Frenchy's genealogy for us.

My goodness Fred. You must have spent hours on the web or in the library in Utah.

Great work.

I have never actually met any members of the Schitt or Sherlock families. But, I have been verbally associated with those families as well as other well known families such as a well known family beginning with the letter 'F'.

Good work.

Fred - saw that joke about 10 years ago, but its still funny.

Raining out! Anywhere from 2 to 6" rain predicted over the weekend. Dense fog with everything sticky. Only 75°F but I have AC on just to get rid of the humidity.

Hope everyone in FLA has battened down the hatches. A lot of people around these parts have been pulling their boats out of the water. Our last cat 3 hurricane in New England was way back in 1954. Thankfully, over the last few decades, the Gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana have been the proverbial hurricane magnet, just like a trailer park attracts a tornado.

I heard they are evacing the keys for the new hurricane.

I just do not see myself in an area that is under attack every year.

You get attacked by the Mt Shasta Godess every winter!

You also just got bit by the big bad auto industry. How's the job search coming?

Tru,
Now is your chance.... Move to Texas!

WARREN,
How is the weather up there? Are you getting any remnants of the hurricane that far north?

Absolutely. Hanna just a tropical storm now, but it has dumped a lot of rain over the last 8 hours or so. Wind gusts to 50 MPH, a few tree limbs down, some people losing power, and a lot of localized street flooding. Just north of me, a town got 3 inches of rain in one hour. Total will be about 7 inches, but only about 3 inches locally when the rain stops about 5 AM Sunday.

There was a lot of flooding in NC and NY due to the storm.
I've had the AC on all day ... temp only got to about 75°F but 100% humidity. UGH. Walking around outside is like wearing a wet dishrag. Supposed to be sunny and 80°F tomorrow because the storm is racing north at a much faster speed than expected.

Just watched the 11 PM weather, and it looks like Hurricane Ike which is a Cat 4 storm now, could be headed to your way in about 4 or 5 days.

Hey Warren - I was in RI in '54 when hurricane Carol rolled through and I think
she was a bit more than a cat 3. Sure tore the heck out of the area as I recall.
I just returned to Hawaii after 10 days in Texas - it is cooler in Hawaii, but the
cost of gas is about 80 cents/gal more here and everything else is more $ too.

That little house price is in line with Hawaii prices too!

Nope - Hurricane Carole was only a Cat 3 when she hit New England. It was still a hell of a storm. I remember going outside just after a Cat 2 or 1 hurricane went by when I was a kid. All of a sudden the sky was clear, the birds started to sing ... and 10 minutes later all hell broke loose. I was in the eye of the storm. What a strange feeling. It was beautiful, too.

The cost of gas is only 80 cents more in Hawaii than the mainland? Wow. Its 75 cents to a dollar more expensive on Martha's Vineyard which is only 10 miles off the coast.

That little house is only 12 feet wide! Its like a big doll house. Heck, the lot is only about 25 feet wide! And the price has been depressed in the last year. I actually saw a nice looking 3 bedroom house with 2 baths and a 2 car garage with an asking price under $300K. That's cheap around these parts.

Warren,

For a nice house like that last one, under $300K isn't a bad price around here normally, but the depressed housing market has bought the prices down somewhat. I get a small paper that has all of the local listings in it and I have noticed that houses that some time back were in the $350 to $500K range have now dropped into the $250 to $ 400K range and they are still not selling. Some of them were way overpriced to start with and the people that bought them have those huge payments, no jobs, and are just tyring to avoid having them foreclosed on.

Same thing around here. There is also a glut of new condos that are not selling. They are offering the condos "for rent" with an option to buy, which is a new approach. There are at least 6 local real estate companies that are now offering bus tours (large vans) to see multiple foreclosed houses. Fifteen minutes at a house and then drive to another one.

Good Morning everyone. Hanna has left the room. Stopped raining. Just read in the paper that Jerry Reed will not be coming down for breakfast. RIP good buddy, and keep on trucking for the Bandit.

GMW

It looks like Ike may be headed the same way as Gustav. It looks like they may have to evacuate New Orelans again.

I have been lucky in that I have not been in any real storms. Yea, we get really bad hail storms here but they are usually not widespread. I have been caught in a few of them. That is very nerveracking to have your truck get the piss beat out of while you are still in it.

Steve,

I have seen and been in some big hail storms in other states and they are a mess. But right now I think most people around this area would welcome a good long rain. Instead they now say we will have another dry Winter and that the snow in the Sierras which fills the lakes and rivers is about gone already because of the unusual heat. Some of the small towns are already out of water and hauling it in.

If I do not get something going by the end of next week, I might have to try Texas.

There are a lot of people who are saying they have this and that, but they really don't.

Then there are the "take advantage" people. Companies calling up and offering pay at half or less. They are trying to hook someone desperate. What is even more interesting is the people that call. I have gotten more "English is a third language" type people calling with dumb questions.

When the first question they ask is "how much you make?" you know the conversation is going down hill fast.

Tru,

I know it is hard to not get discouraged but hang in there and something will come along, probably when you least expect it. If you go to Texas people will think you just want to be closer to the Ho Sisters.

Tru,
Yep, I understand.

It is corporate mentality. That is... screw the worker bees and let the CEO's take home the cash. It sucks.

GMW, GBW,

Dentist this morning for the permanent crown. I already feel bad and after that last experience with the novacaine I am not looking forward to this at all. But since it was then first time I have ever had any problem with it, I am hoping it was just that I was already very sick that day and today won't be so bad. At least today I don't have to pay anything.
