Steve,
We could sure use some of that rain, but not with the wind that accompanies it. Right now we are starting to have threats of lawsuits over water. This little town has bought a lot from the Mcconnell Foundation which owns water rights to about all the water in the lake right now. But we are still going to have to cut back as the lake is going down fast and the long range forecast is for another VERY DRY Winter. Last Winter was bad and the snowfall was almost non existent. Oh well, I had rather talk about the weather than politics.

Yea, me too.
I do realize we need to listen to what the candidates have to say to make an informed decision but I think for the most part everyone has already made up their minds and the next few weeks are just all about the money.
Honestly, I'll be glad in 129 more days when Bush is no longer the Commander in Chief.

Steve,
Here is the latest news report that just posted on my news module about the storm.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080912/ap_on_re_us/ike
Doesn't look good for a lot of people. The weather this past year or so has just been unusual to say the least. Normally we would be having very hot days through this whole month but after an all time record setting August, so far September here has been very mild with a high of just 106 when it should be in the 110+ range most days. But the fires continue to be a big worry. They think they will have the last two contained by tomorrow.

Good Morning again. Just woke up from a 2 hour nap. Did anything happen while I was asleep?
Temp all the way up to 63°F. Got my detail sander yesterday, so I guess I'll have to spend some quality time with Turtle today.
Steve - you said " .... but I think for the most part everyone has already made up their minds ....."
I read a report that said that 10% of the people voting make up their mind on who to vote for when they are in the voting booth. WOW. That is a lot of people. I do not agree that the % is that big, but if it is .... that is a ton of undecided votes.
My prayers to everyone on the Gulf coast.

Warren,
Good to see that you and Turtle will be spending some quality time together today. Maybe Fred should do the same with the Ho sisters and BB.

Tru,
These frogs are truly bad. I believe it is Florida that is having a real problem with them now. Here is one short paragraph about them.
Banned as an illegal invasive species, the clawed green creatures that live mostly in the water and grow as large as bullfrogs can destroy entire ecosystems if they escape by voraciously eating native fish and just about anything they can swallow.
These frogs can be bought from online at Grow-A-Frog, which is based in Florida. They are eating the native frogs there along with everything else that doesn't eat them first. Fred had better hire body guards for the Ho sisters.

Frogs!
"It is with a heavy heart that I come to you today. Our nation is under attack. Alien frogs have crossed the boarder and are loose in our great nation."
I have prepared the beginning to the president's address.
You know Fred, having that "attractant" in the DFW area will make you a prime target. I would move the sisters out of the DFW area before frog commandos parachute in from all directions.

Maybe we should put up a big fence along the eastern seaboard to prevent these Illegal African frogs from invading this fine country.
Turtle is ready to do his part - no frogs shall invade Squantum.
Its bad enough that we have to teach our kids Spanish when Obama gets elected ... we will also have to teach them how to speak French. Wait one minute ... if you step on a frog, don't they say CROAK?
Press one for English
Press two for Spanish
Press three for French
Press ninety three thousand, two hundred and eleven for Turtle-eze
My prayers for anyone that is hunkered down in Galveston. They say 40% of the population did not evacuate.

I suspect no one would answer the door if you evacuated.
So you would answer the door so no one would think you left your property unattended.
Couldn't help it.

heheh, no need to apologize, its kind of mundane compared to whats been
flyin' around lately. i guess they might be knocking on doors, would you answer
your door in the middle of a disaster? i might send a round thru the door then answer. i find any potential dangerous weather pattern to be a media feeding frenzy. when the storms peter out they seem very disappointed. just find it appauling to sensationalize these natural disasters for ratings and hype
fred
ps dont your breasts get tired?

FYI -
This is 2 years in a row that Galveston has had a hurricane come ashore on Sept.12th. Last year it was 82 mph.

Well if that trend continues then if I lived in Galveston I think I might entertain the thought of moving.
