Yep. I'm on the ocean which is 62°F so it acts like a radiator. It got down to the mid to high 40's last night, but its up to 53°F now at noon. Some of the inland "low valleys" areas actually dipped into the high 30's last night.

Forecast for next 7 days is sunny with high temp of 62 to 74°F. This is fall weather. At least no frost so my tomato plants are still fine.

Boy, it did not take long to get the kid that hacked into Palin's e-mail. Some people are really brain dead. I bet he gets jail time.

Oh, I almost forgot ... I've only got a few minutes left to say ...

Damg sometimes it is hard to make a post.

People walking by looking over your shoulder to see what you are writing.

I posted on the hunting thread by Glyn and had to stop at least five times.

Did you guy, other than Fred, read the thread? Glyn has some good questions. I thought the posts I read were good.

It was 52 here this morning. Really weird for this time of year. And the high for the weekend is supposed to only be 98. I can't remember a September that has been this cold.

Fred, it was in a quote from Warren's post that you put in your last post. Boy, am I happy to see that I am not the only one with memory lapses.

Too much to do and not enough time.

Canning is tops on the list. Take down the garden, put away the hoses, take down posts, put roof on barn...etc.

I will get most of it done before the snow flies.

Warren, are you ready for the snow??

Tru,

Snow is on the way. Warren has to get Turtle prepared for the long Winter. I am not sure we aren't going to have a long one as cool as it is right now. But the long range forecasts that I see still say it will be a dry Winter here.

I don't understand.
The best thing I can do is just go ahead and maintain my normal state of confusion.

Why do y'all like to pick on a poor Texian anyway ??

1) You should not be posting on CC while at work. You are cheating the company. Oh, they laid you off? Then you should spend 100% of your time on the web until you start your new job.

2) When I was working, I hated people sneaking up behind me in my office, so I rearranged the furniture. Always face the door, and then have the computer screen so it is not viewable when someone walks in your office.

3) Always have another program running (e-mail, some spreadsheet) while you are surfing the net. Then if someone walks in and start to come around so they could see the screen, just hit ALT-Tab and the browser will go away under the other program.

Happy Birthday. I'll send your present in the mail tonight. First I will have to peel it, then cook it and then mash it. You will love it! (PS - Its not a potato)

Up early this morning as today is the kickoff for the habitat for humanity build we are doing. Gotta go help frame the house today. Last night I went to Sonic to get dinner and saw a 65 Mustang Convertible and a 57 Thunderbird Convertible that were just perfect. I talked to the 2 couples having dinner there and told them that I thought the cars were beautiful. The Mustang was a nice deep blue with white interior and the T-bird was a kind of light blueish green color. Very nice.

Hey Joe - very nice thing to donate your time to a very worthy cause. I just donated 5 large bags of soda cans to the local boy scout troop. No way am I going to stand in front of a machine and stuff cans in a little slot. My usual donations are $$$, but time and sweat equity is more important to that charity.

Temp got down to 45°F last night. Temp on first floor of house is only 64°F now, since it was cold all day yesterday. Thankfully my bedroom/computer/TV room is upstairs and is always warmer than downstairs ... its 70°F now. I was tempted to turn on the heat, but Noooooooooooo ... its only September! And the price of heating oil is higher than gas.

Tru - it takes about 4 to 6 hours for me to get ready for snow. Need the solar heat generated to take the chill off the downstairs, so I'll have to put the storm windows on the back porch. Also put glass windows in the storm doors on the porches, convert small window in cellar from screen (with fan attached) to the storm window - six screws and its done, drain garden hose, remove the two window AC units, move the snow blower to front of garage and check anti-freeze level in Merc and Cobra.

Joe,
A few years ago I helped the Habitat. I took my whole framing crew.
They had the house completely framed in three hours.

It is canning day!

I slept better last night.

Fred, I do not pick on you. Steve does because he is jealous.
