Tru,
When kids go to college they eat more. When I used to come home for break my Mother would have a full freezer of extra food.
Warren,
We can get burn permits here for certain months, but can't burn leaves, paper, or anything else that may have ashes that can fly off in the air. Also no burning in barrels at all.I used to burn my rose bush trimmings but decided it was less trouble and mess to cut them into short lengths and put them in the garbage can.
We had another small fire the other day but it ran into one of the big fire areas where there was nothing left and they got it out pretty quickly.

RED SOX 1.
TAMPA BAY 3.
Warren,
Well I guess neither of us will see the teams we wanted in the World Series. But I thought it was a well played game.

WOW!
$2.30 for gas this morning at 6:30 on the ride in.
I almost stopped just to check if it was real ( ).
Ron, we burned off the tree cuttings from the tree that got wacked by the big storm many months ago. It went up fast and went down fast. I think there was a lot of water still in the piles.

I'm thinking we might need a poll on whether to flog Ron or not after this last post.
Then a few volunteers after we decide to flog him.

I've been in mourning all day for the Red Sox, but the Patriots are making me feel better. They are flushing the Broncos by 20 at the half.
Only got up to 52°F today and when I was putting out the rubbish about 2 PM, the sun was out. So what the heck, on went the wool hat and gloves and I went for a ride. Thought that I'd just recharge my batteries with a 30 minute drive.
Kudos to Superformance and their tremendous heater. I had to turn it off a couple of times. I got home after a 3 hour ride. My ears were cold, but my tootsies were toasted.

Subject: The Heaviest Element Known to Science!
Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.
Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of morons promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass. When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

61 degrees here. Oh and clear too.
I don't think I have EVER been more ready for a National Election to be done and over with !!!
I've just had more than my fill of all the arguing and yelling !
I'm not just pointing a finger to this forum,it's everywhere.
The problem is I think it will only go down a couple of notches whom ever wins.

Warren,
Sounds as if the long cold Winter they forecast is starting to arrive. It was down to 48 here a couple of mornings ago, but is mostly in the low to mid 50. I think it is 51 right now. And the highs in the afternoons are just in the low to mid 80s so our Winter is starting too. Fortunately I don't have to worry abut the mini ice age that you have coming.

Well from the looks of it on another thread Excaliber is no longer a member. Did I see that right? It says "Non Member" under his name.
Got up and went and walked about 2.2 miles this morning. It is nice outside. Not too hot, not too cool.

Seems like it is always the same ones griping at each other.
I hope they enjoy themselves. It just goes to show how immature some can be.
No politics here though
CW, Jamo
Thanks for closing those threads. We really don't need that kind of stuff, and those of us who enjoy the lounge as a way to keep in touch with each other should not be punished (see closing the lounge) for others immaturity.

Steve,
To the best of my knowledge Ernie hasn't been barred from here. He just decided to quit posting and then opened that thread that kind of went off track. Like so many do during times of stress and disagreement. I will be very happy when this election is over and then maybe some of this stuff will calm down. Besides all the stuff posted on here isn't going to have any effect at all on the election. It just makes members mad at each other. I think he put that Non Member under his name when he posted that he wasn't going to post any more.

I did not mean to imply that he was barred. I thought it looked like he quit.
My bad for not explaining it better.
All this political bickering has caused a few other arguments here as well. We just don't need that nonsense here. Like you said, it will not change the election anyway.
No matter what anyone says, thinks or has said or will say. I can not support Obama. But that is me. If someone else does, I am OK with that. That is what makes us all different. That is what makes us Americans.

Mike ... I feel your pain. Too bad the Red Sox did not play like the Pats last night. The Bronco's were really off, especially the penalties.
Also, my 3 hour ride to nowhere yesterday had a lot to do with my sudden recovery. Nothing like a cold day to make HP. I was driving thru the Blue Hills on a long and twisty road, and some idiot started to tailgate me. Downshift to second and see ya later. I was stopped at the next traffic light about a mile away for at least 30 seconds before he showed up. Then I crawled thru the light and drove at the speed limit for the next two miles. I do not think he was too happy.
