I remember several years ago when 12 of us were going to Weaverville we decided to leave at 5 AM. This was in August and the temperatures were in the 115 degree range. I was the only one that showed up at the meeting place with a heavy coat, stocking cap to pull down over my ears and gloves. After All of the laughing at me we started. The road follows the old stagecoach road along the bottom of the canyon and beside the river and the sun doesn't even get there until almost noon. Some of them had to stop and get out and warm up by getting close to their side pipes and they couldn't even bend their fingers. On the way home I just threw the coat and stuff in the trunk. But they never laughed at me any more.

There were a few times I drove to work in a coat and gloves in the summer -- because of the cool nights and the Cobra was wide open.
I know what you are talking about Ron.

A couple of young kids came to my front door looking for donation to the OJ Simpson defense fund.
I asked them how much they had collected, and they said enough to buy a 55 gal drum of Vaseline.
Looks like they will also need some for the Illinois Governor (another Obama ass kisser). Obama list of "friends" is truly unbef***inglievable.

What happens in New York when they have to select someone to fill out Hillary's seat in the Senate? I bet after this mess, if the Governor of New York does the appointments he is going tom cover his butt well.

Tru,
She has already accepted the Secretary of State job and the Congressional approval is just a rubber stamp thing. Are you thinking of trying for her Senate seat. Just put on some horrid dress and shoes and a wig and who knows, you may be the person to fill out her term as a Senator of New York.
Gads, what a spectacle that would be.

This is for Tru and Warren,
It snowed in Texas last night. I can now understand your pain and frustration with snow. We got almost 2 feet of snow. I knew that you would not believe me, so I am attaching a picture to prove it.

You mean that is not how you measure it?
In all seriousness, I was surprised that we had enough accumulation to turn the top of my picnic table white. Was a mix of sleet and really large snow flakes for about 45 min, then stopped. Was a nice confortable evening sitting in the living room with a fire going.

Joe,
Before the weather turned weird we used to have a big snow here about every 8 to 10 years. The last big one was just over 3 feet deep and very wet and I think almost every tree and older building in the area collapsed. We had some a year or so ago but it barely covered the street and was gone in an hour or so.

We had about a 1/4 inch of snow a couple of days ago on the grass ... would not stick to the streets. Yesterday was in the teens. Of course, its now 62°F outside and raining. High temp for the next 5 days is supposed to be 37°F. Crazy weather.
Everybody knows that all Texans brag about the size of everything they have ... and we all know how small everything is.
Sounds like a friend of mine that went heavy into drag racing about 40 years ago. He had an cammer Ford powered Anglia with a 3 inch shortened wheelbase to improve traction. He made a tape measure with 3 inches removed from the middle so he would pass tech inspections. Best job of welding thin metal and great repaint job. He still has the tape measure in his trophy case.

Since I have lived in Dallas, there has only been 1 year where we really had any snow. It was my first year here (2000) and we had about 2 feet total. Other than that, it is how you just described.

So we now know why they use their own measuring devices at all of the tracks.

Why can't I see Warren's last post? It shows he posted right after my last one but all I can see is my last one at 10:50.
Edit: Ok, I seem to be having trouble with this thread. When I went to submit this post it gave me a Data Base Error and when I went back to the Lounge the post was in but it isn't showing on the last person to post to the thread.

Posting as a test. On the Lounge page, I show the last post here was by Warren at 12:56, but when I come in, the last one is by Ron at 12:50. Just wondering if I will see my post or not.
Edit: I see i was not the only one with that problem. That is odd.

LOL, just came back to check it out. I think Warren needs a time out for breaking the site. I would suggest the BB or TG give him a spanking as well, but I don't think it would come across as punishment.

Warren the Cobra God has ultimate power. I have spoken. You shall continue to have periodic computer glitches until Bill Gates sends me the million dollars he owes me from those e-mails he sent to me.
Should have gone for a ride today (60°F +) but sprinkling all day. The almighty God upstairs has ultimate power over the Cobra God in spades.

Well it was very nice here yesterday afternoon. But the low was 33 and it is about 36 right now. Supposed to be 66 this afternoon but it will be cold when it gets light and I take the dogs for their run and walk.
Has anyone heard from Steve lately? I hope that everything is going well for him and that he is just busy. Joe keeps busy at WORK and taking care of his wife so he doesn't have a lot of time for playing. WORK was for Warren so he won't miss it.
