Kristen,
Did Tru make it down there ok? Haven't heard a word since the morning he left. I hope everything goes great and they have a good hunt.

I am in shorts and have been for the last three days. Come on Tru, I thought you lived where it is really cold.
OOOHHH, That's right you are not used to the 'humidity' being in the cold weather. Oh well, welcome to Texas anyway, and good hunting.

here < 24 hours and HOG #1 is at the butcher....... I believe Erich had the honors. (edit to add: Erich 'stuck' it. no guns involved. Guns today???)
stay tuned. lol
my nephew, the infamous hog hunter for Kaufman County, happened to be in town with his 'hog dogs'. You people just would not believe......
anyway, i believe he has headed back to college to get some learnin' today, so David, Peter, Dave and Erich have taken the truck and the guns. Guess they're skipping church.
Dave brought me some venison and i guess i'll see about making some chili.
cya!

Well that's a start. Lets hope that Dave gets a chance today. Lets see, trip down there, gas, oil, supplies, pay for butcher, trip home, the meat should run around $90 a pound. But the fun will more than make it worth that.

Stuff it Ron
Just had heater guy over. The valve that lets any air out of the system (forced hot water) crapped out and was leaking. Thankfully he got here within an hour and had everything fixed within 30 minutes. Now I just have to bleed all of the heat registers.
Anyone bores with the 24 hour Rolex race?
Jump over to the History Channel. Battle 360 - great WWII action (graphics and archival footage). Very interesting, and will be on until 5 PM or so.

Warren,
I have been watching the Battle 360 also. I saw it before but it is interesting stuff, and especially when they interview some of the people who were on the ships and in the planes. Like the one pilot from the Enterprise said when they had to land on Guadalcanal, it is a whole different perspective down here than from in the air.
Still no rain. Just overcast and in the upper 40s now.

I have about a quart of my homemade chili thawing on the shelf. Sorry, but it was made with 85% beef ... no deer, no hogs, no boar meat.
That will be a great side dish with a filet mignon steak, med rare. All I have to do is decide what veggies to cook. And a potato, of course.
Great ending to the Rolex 24 hr race.

Yea, that was a close ending after 24 hours for racing but I wish the 01 car had won.
Really miserable here today. Clouds have mostly gone away and it got up to around 52. I even mowed the yards. They were really wet from all of that mist yesterday but the weeds were getting to bad to look at.

Warren,
If you were Rambo, then a little cool weather wouldn't stop you from going for a ride.
Edit: By the way it is down to 30 here this morning and the yard looks as if it had snowed with all of the ice from the dew we had the past day or so. But it is supposed to be sunny and in the LOW 50s today. another BITTER winter day to struggle through.

So, at the close of Sunday, we have three hogs.
Erich got Hogzilla. It is bigger than the Boar I get last time I was here.
We are thinking we may have to limit our adventure to 6 hogs. Especially if we get another big one like yesterdays.
We do not have pictures yet. And, we seem to be loosing equipment.
Well, we are heading out.

The dang trash man spilled the neighbors trash all over the street when they were dumping it. He started to leave it there. GRRRRRRR Wind blowing everywhere.
I walked outside and pointed to it and then I pointed to him. He got out of the truck and picked it up. Well most of it anyway, but he was going to leave it in the middle of the street if I hadn't been there.
