It was a 2 track train. I have a friend who is really into trains, and I described what I had for American Flyer trains. I had oil drum loaders, lumber loaders, coal loader, little side cars with two guys to pump the handles, two loco's. He said to reproduce the system would be about $2500 today.
I also had an uncle that died about 25 years ago. He had a train system that took up his attic. All of the attic. There was a mountain in one corner with about 6 train tunnels. Must have been an 1/8 mile of track ... it went everywhere.

I have noticed the price of the weekly groceries has gone up about 20%.
Well, it was sleeting on the way in this morning.
Warren, I think this is heading your way.

Today, it snowed on the Sahara in 1879, Also, Pluto was discovered today, many years ago. But they found that Pluto knew A-Rod and probably took steroids, so they kicked him out of the solar system.

23°F outside. Brrrr. I hear that the Mt Shasta Goddess is doing her stuff around your area. About time that hag stopped leaving dandruff in my area.

Warren,
I went in at 2 AM and did some grocery shopping and it is still raining lightly here. I heard they got 18" of snow on Mt. Shasta, almost 1/4 of what it should be now. You and Tru keep hogging all of the snow. But we have had more rain this past week than we have had in the last two years. It won't fill the lake, but it will certainly help a lot especially if the snow pack in the Cascades doesn't start melting immediately.

Steve,
I am so old that no one can recall that far back in history to insult me. There are some benefits to being one of the first people on the planet. I have gotten to see it go from an almost unlivable planet, through a good time or two, and now it is returning to the unlivable condition. Time for me to call my people and have them come get me and take me home.

Warren,
She did sell it a while back. There is a thread in the Texas Forum that said that the new owner has decided that he is not a Cobra person and is now selling it. I want it, but just can't afford it yet.

Tru,
Just read this and thought of you. Here is your chance to get a huge grant if you can come up with some more ridiculous ideas than some of these for removing the space junk.

Well gee thanks Ron.
I may be out of job in the next 30 days, so I know I have a future in space junk.

Tru,
I hope that you won't be out of a job soon. Things around this area are really bad. I am very happy to be retired, ( retarded ), as some would say. They just cut the people who work at the local newspaper back quite a bit on their pay and quit paying into their retirement account, but they did it for everyone, not just the lower ranks. They all said that they would rather have a job even at less pay than no income at all. And even if they make it through the next few months, they may still have to cut back on weekend editions and maybe lay a few off.

Oh noooooooooooo Mr Bill ... Tru may be laid off again. Splat!
At least you won't have to listen to Mohamed all day.
Sorry Tru - I know what a pain it is to sit there and wonder when and if the axe is falling. I went thru that for almost 5 years while the company I worked for was downsizing every year.

Warren,
The big difference is Tru actually works instead of sitting around wondering when he can go on vacation. I believe the telephone companies started downsizing about 5 years after I went to work for them and I never worried about it. I had other job offers and they never did even ask me if I would be interested in a buy out.
