Cool and damp here this morning and more rain is supposed to be on the way. My yard is like a swamp now, but that is the first time in 3 years. Forget the axe for the weeds, I will need a chain saw.

Got a new tool book from Sears yesterday. Lots of neat stuff in it.

GMCC

I haven't seen a tool book from Sears in years. The market strategist predicts that Sears will not last through the year. I sure hope they are wrong. It seems that is one of the few stores left you can get something that will last anymore.

Ron,
Good to hear your getting some rain up there.
It is a little late but every single drop will help.

Steve,

That is the first tool book I have received from them in a long time. I thought they had quit putting them out since K-Mart bought Sears. It is a pretty thick one and I wonder if they are trying to sell them before announcing they ware closing down. I saw the same thing you did that the analysts didn't think Sears would make it through the year.

Yea, it is a shame for sure.

I do like the quality of Sears tools. I have had very little trouble with them over the years, and I have found that they do not cost that much more than the crap that is on the shelves everywhere else.

I really hope Sears does not fall by the wayside.

So do I as I have always bought their tools. And most of the stuff in my house I bought from them, but I won't buy the cheap crap they now stock in this store here as it is K-Mart stuff. They still stock the Craftsman tools but I noticed in the lawn and garden section they have mostly gone to the cheap brand junk. Now that is just our store here and others may not have done this yet. But their sales have dropped to almost nothing. They have a huge parking lot and you used to have to hunt for an empty place, Now you can park right in front of the door any time of day.

Fred, it appears to be time to take care of that urge you have been building up to for the past year and a half.

Tru,

Just in case you may need it:

My Resume

1. My first job was working in an Orange Juice factory, but I got canned. I couldn't concentrate.

2. Then I worked in the woods as a Lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.

3. After that, I tried to be a Tailor, but I just wasn't suited for it -- mainly because it was a sew-sew job.

4. Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory, but that was too exhausting.

5. Then, I tried to be a Chef - figured it would add a little SPICE to my life, but I just didn't have the thyme.

6. Next, I attempted to be a Deli Worker, but any way I sliced it I couldn't cut the mustard.

7. My best job was a Musician, but eventually I found I wasn't noteworthy.

8. I studied a long time to become a Doctor, but I didn't have any patience.

9. Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory. I tried but I just didn't fit in.

10. I became a Professional Fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income.

11. I managed to get a good job working for a Pool Maintenance Company, but the work was just too draining.

12. So then I got a job in a Workout Center , but they said I wasn't fit for the job.

13. After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as a Historian - until I realized there was no future in it.

14. My last job was working in Starbucks, but I had to quit because it was always the same old grind.

15. SO, I TRIED RETIREMENT AND FOUND THAT I'M PERFECT FOR THE JOB!

Well considering that BB is now a petite woman compared to some of Warren's favorites, we have a lot in this state that should really appeal to Warren. If we can get them to move back there that should help balance the country between East and west as it seems to be sinking on this side at the moment. I believe that Fred's Arizona picture will bear that out.

We are supposed to have overcast and it is in the low 40s right now. Forecast is for possible light showers later today and tomorrow. I actually took a picture of the water running out of my gutters down spout the other day it had been so long since we have had enough rain to cause that.

Now Ron the "Green Thing" to do would have been to catch the water in a barrell and water your garden or flowerbeds when it is dry.

Steve,

I just saw on the news that even with the rains we have had the Almond crop isn't going to be good and a lot less food will be planted and grown. Just not enough water after the past 3 years to go around.

Warren,

It is obvious that you are growing old and your wild lifestyle with Bertha, BB, and Frenchy and the Ho gang has to come to come to an end. Maybe you should trade the Cobra in for an electric wheelchair and go pig hunting with Tru.

GMCC

Hey Ron, Yea, but some rain is a hell of a lot better than nothing... Right? I realize it will not fill the lake, even with the snow pack melt but with this rain at least Redding will have water this summer. Jamo may run out but you will be OK.

Any way you look at it it is going to be a long summer for So-Cal.

Hey
Awhile back someone had mentioned rubbing "Vick's sav" on your feet before going to bed to help with some kind of sickness, (a cold, or cough or something) does anyone remember that and what is was for?

I had never heard of this before that was mentioned here.

Steve,

We are going to still have some water rationing here next Summer but this rain and what snow has fallen is going to help a great deal.
As for the Vicks Salve on the feet it seems I vaguely recall reading something about that but I am not sure if it was on here or somewhere else. Might try a search and see if anything comes up.
