Vicks Vapo Rub - dangerous to children.
I apply some heavy duty skin cream to my feet about twice a week under my socks before I go to bed. Without it, my feet would look like the Mojave Desert during a drought.

Warren,
My doctor told me some kind of skin cream to use and it works great. I just use it about once a week. I can't even remember the name of it and am to lazy to get up and go look, but it is an over the counter type and works great for me. I have problems especially during the Summer with my feet drying up and the skin between the toes splitting and it hurts when I shower and will bleed. This cream stopped that.

Steve,
That was 65LA responding to me when I had that cold I could not get rid of a couple months ago. She posted it up when I said I was finally getting better, so I haven't tried it yet, hopefully, I won't get another bad cold this year.
Edit: she did also say to leave your socks on.

Steve,
I just got the paper and the whole front page is about the water shortage. One district just about 14 miles East of here is cutting their supply to rural and residential customers by 67%. Others are going to put huge surcharges on anything above a set amount, yet to be determined. The Governor stated that mandatory rationing is an option and will be used if people don't cut back on their own. Agriculture losses could reach $2.8 Billion this year and cost 95,000 jobs. This is the worst it has been since 1992. Although our rain and snow pack are at about 80% of normal now, it would take 125 to 140% just to get us to the break even mark. Our city gets its water from Shasta Lake which the state has no say over as it is Federal. But everyone is going to have to cut back regardless of who owns the water. There won't be nearly enough to send on down South for the farmers to water crops so they are going to let thousands of acres just set.

I've got 5 different creams by prescription for different parts of the body, so over the counter stuff is just so-so for my condition. After rubbing up against BB and the Ho's, I need major help.
As far as OTC skin cream is concerned, I like Curel, but my dermatologist recommends Cetaphil. I use both, and visit the dermatologist every 6 months. My insurance pays for it, and she is one of the top ten most beautiful women I have ever seen.
What happened to the 65°F weather from yesterday? Its sunny outside, but only 37°F. Time for some lunch. Turkey sandwich and some soup sounds good.

You guys that have really dry feet are not drinking enough water.
If you dry more water your feet will improve very rapidly. I did not believe it either but when I started drinking A LOT more water my feet are no longer dry.
Trust me it works.

Steve,
In the Summer when I have most of my foot problems I drink water almost continuously. It is hard to work out in this 115+ heat and not get dehydrated. I think it is just age catching up finally. I was born feet first so my feet are older than the rest of me.

Steve
I drink enough water to fill Lake Shasta.
Light dusting to 2 inches of snow today, but forecast is for 6 to 12 inches tomorrow. Darn the Mt Shasta Goddess. Guess I'll go do some food shopping today and hunker down for a week.
We must all be getting old. All the talk is about health issues and the weather.

Warren,
I told you last summer that you were going to be sorry that you insulted the Goddess. Now go buy a couple of more snow shovels and maybe a larger snow blower.
Fred native boy. According to his papers he doesn't even exist. Right now that may not be such a bad idea. Except that also causes problems. They had a piece in the paper a few days ago about a woman that the Social Security had decided was dead and when she went in to tell them she was alive, the clerk had to get a supervisor, who patiently explained to her in a public office in front of about 28 people that she didn't know how she was doing this, but she was dead and buried and she had it on her computer to prove it. So, in this world, if a computer decides you are dead, walking in and showing them yourself is not proof. Of course the IRS was mad because they showed her alive and she refused to pay taxes until Social Security showed her alive. They finally asked for an address where they could send a doctor to examine her to prove she was alive. If this sounds as if I made it up, I didn't. It was actually in the paper and is not the first case like this I have read about.

Ron,
That is not surprising. Computers have made our lives easier in some respects, but they have also contributed to the dumbing down of people. They no longer have to think, so they don't. The computer tells them everything they need to know.

Joe,
I once had to go to an office where they had a problem and when I got there the first place I looked was on the frame where they connect the outside cables to the computers LEN. There was no wire there so I got the woman who was supposed to do that and showed her the terminals and told her to run the x-connect. She informed me she wasn't going to do anything as her computer said it was in. One of the two times that I ever got really mad and said anything to any of the people that worked for the companies. I told her I was tired, had flown hundreds of miles without any sleep to find that she hadn't did her job and I didn't give a dam what her computer said, if she didn't have that wire in within the next minute her computer and her would both be out in the parking lot. She put it in and the problem was solved.

Tru,
I tried very hard to never get angry at anyone when I was working because they had to hire so many people that knew nothing do to the equal rights movement. But that time and one other I did kind of lose it. The other time was after I had spent 3 days on the phone with an office back East telling them word for word and comma by comma what command to type in to get the machine to do what they wanted. We ran Unix in those machines and it was very case sensitive and some of the commands were long and included colons, commas, ball bats, & etc, and any one thing not perfect and the machine would just reject it as an invalid command. I ever typed it out and sent it to them, as I had no way to access that particular machine from where I was at. Anyway same story. Flew half way across the country, spend 30 seconds, ( I type slow ), typing the command in and everything worked. After that I went in and called their district manager and had a talk with him and two days later, over the objections of the Union, one of those people was fired. The only time I ever did anything like that and I wasn't proud of it, but I had all of the records of where I had told him what to do and he still had the sheet I had typed the command on and sent to him.

Hey Warren, I was just reading the news about the storm that came in last night. How bad did you get it there? They said a lot of flights from Boston were cancelled. Darn, did you ever tick the Goddess off last Summer with your remarks about her. For a small stipend I won't tell the news media back there that you are to blame for this Winter.
