Speaking of weather/air.....

Saturday night I ate a cold can of Bush's Grillin' Beans,Southern Pit Barbeque flavor.22 ounces. Mighty fine stuff.

I was out for a ride yesterday morning as the Church crowd was clogging the roads & intersections.

It was really blowing, the wind too.

I would have never guessed that I could be heard over a modified Harley V-Twin idling at an intersection. I don't think the gusty wind helped the motorists near by either.

Yep,it was a good ride.

Steve,

You can bet I'm praying for good weather this weekend in San Marcos.
I'll be there with my Kirkham and will finally get to meet some of the Texas
group. Really looking forward to it.

Doesn't look like I will get to go this year but it always a fun outing. I really hope the bad weather stay away. I was there a couple of years ago when the toadstrangler came. The cars had as much as six inches of water in them. It wasn't pretty.

It is great to put a face with people you speak to over the web so aften all year long. I have met some very good people at this outing.

I was originally planning on going, but I wont make it this year. The out of pocket expenses that the insurance did not cover for my wife's surgery cost us at least 2 times the amount as we would have spent going down there. And the bills are still coming in. Plus she used up all of her PTO, so no Austin for us.

Joe,

Sorry about all of your medical expenses and I hope they get over with soon. This month has been a disaster for me as mine have now gone over the $3K mark for this month and I have no insurance and still have to go back to the doctor on Wednesday. I really hope that your wife is doing well and that things straighten out for you soon. Take care and keep the faith.

Cold. Tru you are up early if your time stamp is correct. No wonder you are tired. Only old people like me can get by on 3 hours sleep a day.
Tomorrow the doctor and maybe today Lowes to get a new gas powered weed eater. My neighbor got a 4 cycle Troy Bilt and I looked at it
yesterday and it seems like a very good one.

I designed a composter for the forward pasture.

It could be a long term project if I get it built early in the year.

Any of you compost?

Only if the toilet seat is padded.

It is cold again this morning. Around the 36 degree mark but supposed to be in the 60s this afternoon. I feel like crap as my sinuses have my head so stuffed up it feels as if it could explode. But if it lets up and warms up later this morning I think I am still going to go look at those weed eaters like my neighbor got. I used my old electric one that hasn't been ran in 5 years some yesterday and it really makes my back hurt with all of the weight out on the end of the bar. Plus I have to string out that 100' of extension cord just to do the inside of the yard fences.

Well we did not get the bad rain and big hail they were predicting last night but it still looks dark outside this morning. We got some rain about 3:00AM but nothing like I expected. Hardly enough to wash the pollen off the car.

Tru,
Post some pictures of your compost design. I did that along time ago in a different home we had. I designed the com-poster to look like a well and the handle that would draw up the water was what turned the compost over. I had to be careful what I put in it because it was close to the house but it sure made the flower beds look nice.

Joe,
Too bad I will miss Austin this year. If you haven't ever gone to that event it is a lot of fun. Fred can tell a story or two about Austin

Ron,
Glad to hear the lake at least has some water in it for the summer. Isn't now the rainy season for you though? Too bad you can't get some of Oregon's rain. It rains there everyday- You would think you are in Florida or something

No I have never gone. Last year was the first year since I joined the cobra club and I was real busy at work. This year I was planning it, but the surgery changed things. Probably would have only gone down Friday night and joined the Saturday activities though since I am once again busy at work. I just figure that there are more important things in life and hopefully there will be time for Austin another year. I think once I get my Cobra, I will be joining a lot more events. Now if I could just get the Cobra...

Well, I got the new weed eater this morning Joe. Put a Cobra emblem on it. Now I see our weather has changed again and we are supposed to have light showers tomorrow.
I was supposed to go to the doctor in the morning but called and Sherry worked me in at 1:30 today. My nerves are really bad and I think I am going to have to get one of those painful shots.

Fred,

I got two shots yesterday and so far this morning I am feeling better than I have for a month or more. All of the blood work was good.

Mike,

Yes I got the 4 cycle and have it together. Just have to add gas and then see if I can start it. I really like the feature of being able to wind new line without having to take the bump button off. These chain link fences really eat the line up. It will also take other units such as a small brush saw, a 10" chain type saw for reaching up and cutting small limbs, a two tine rototiller and a couple of other things that I forget. If it warms up this afternoon and the predicted sprinkles don't fall I will probably get it out and try it.

Heart Surgeon and The Mechanic

A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the engine of a motorcycle when he spotted a well known heart surgeon in his shop. The surgeon was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike.

The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc, can I ask you a
question?"
The surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on
the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag
and asked, "So, Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take valves
out, fix 'em, put 'em back in and when I'm finished, it works just like
new.
So, how come I get such a small salary and you get the really big bucks,
when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The surgeon paused, smiled, leaned and whispered to the mechanic ....

"Try doing it with the engine running!"

Ron which one did you go with? I have a Troy built 2 cycle that has the different attachments, but I like the idea of not having to remove the bump button to wind new line.

Joe,

The Troy Bilt was the one that I got.My neighbor bought one sometime back and showed it to me and I really liked it. It uses the .095 line and I like not having to mix oil with the gas. It will of course use smaller line without any problem so I can use up the .085 that I have left over.

I bought it at Lowes and paid the $20 extra for their 3 year warranty which superceedes the 2 year that Troy Bilt has. If anything breaks or goes wrong, all I have to do is take it back to them and they will give me a brand new one, no questions asked. Just the shipping charge alone to send it back to the factory to have something fixed is around $15 here.

Ron, the emblem will give it at least five more HP.

I am thinking of a 30" x 48" rotating container with two doors for the compost bin.

We used to just do it in rows through the woods, but that is too much work. And, in this case, I agree with Warren about this work.

Anyway, I am not sure I will have time.

Thinking of calling on the lift. I was going to wait until May, but what the heck.
