Fred,

Your weather must be like ours. It is almost 80 here today with just a slight breeze and really nice. I have spend a good deal of the day outside with the dogs.

A bit of heavy thunder this morning to wake me up, so it looks like we may be in for some more rain.

I think we are supposed to get some in the next day or two.

Well now, I am going to put first seeds in the ground for onion and scallions.

Anyone else getting ready to put in their garden seeds?

I want to try five 'Fairview Maple' seeds also.

No Garden, just weeds. I see that our weather says light showers tomorrow. Great, these 70 to 80 degree days and I have everything mowed and looking half way decent and now it will shower just enough to water the weeds and then they will grow 6" in a day. More work for the new weed eater.

Damned weeds seem to be taking all the water. Either that or the 2 cold days really played hell with my trees. They had begun to leaf and now the leaves are turning brown and falling off again.

Wow, it is warm out there today. I just got back from RIDE in the 69 Cobra. Ran good and people really looked at it. It now has 41,039 miles on it. Not to bad for a 40 year old car. I figured Warren would enjoy going with me so I invited him.

Ron, good of you to invite him along. If he said anything, please let us know.

Well, the new dirt is in the elevated garden and I am looking at all the other chores.

The left gets a new seal kit for $550.00 on the 16th.

Dang this is getting expensive.

Hows all of you holding up?

Windy as all get out here this morning. Tru, I thought of you and the farm cats when I read this.

Saying Goodbye To Mother:

Subject: saying goodbye to mother
Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2009 23:03:11 -0700

We were dressed and ready to go out for the New Year's Eve Party. We
turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered our
pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard.

We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived
and we opened the front door to leave the house.

The cat we put out in the yard, scoots back into the house. We didn't
want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird.

My wife goes out to the taxi, while I went inside to get the cat. The
cat runs upstairs, with me in hot pursuit. Waiting in the cab, my wife
doesn't want the driver to know that the house will be empty for the
night. So, she explains to the taxi driver that I will be out soon,
"He's just going upstairs to say Good-bye to my mother."

A few minutes later, my husband gets into the cab and says as we drove
away, "Sorry I took so long, that stupid ***** was hiding under the bed.
I had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried
to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck. Then,I had to wrap her in a
blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked! I hauled her fat
ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!"

The cab driver hit a parked car.

Mike,

That is to bad. Lets hope that things will start to turn around soon. Another of the big chain department stores in Redding announced they are closing at the end of the month and all of their stores in the U.S. will be shut down. I believe they have around 45 people working at the one here and it is the anchor store for a small shopping center so the other smaller stores are already talking about having to shut down as they don't think they can draw enough customers to stay open. Our unemployment rate in this county is fast approaching 16%.
