We got rain.

Dang, this is a wet spring for us.

Ron, you said you really haven't got much rain, is that still the case?

Drained the trans and am ready to put in new fluid.

I swear I will go through a whole package of rags to wipe the bttom of the car down. I should have power washed the bottom before starting the CAM job.

Yes, I am still waiting on the heads.

Had an awesome weekend with another BBQ with neighbors and attended the Dallas Cobra club lunch on Saturday. Sunday was really relaxing.

I got an agent to look at my last novel.

You all need to cross your fingers. I would like to sell this one within the next year.

Big night for storms and tornados. My driveway has been "redefined" by mother nature.

Tru,

Two days last week we set heat records and then one day we set a record for rain in June. We had almost 1 1/2 inch. Now it is back to the mid 80s and climbing every day. Supposed to reach triple digits by next weekend.
I hope that your book sells well and quickly.

Steve,

Congratulations on passing the tests. Now you can start concentrating on the rest.

Ron

You didn't take them to some guy that is related to the one that has my Coupe did you? It is now going on 3 years since he told me he would have it done is 3 to 4 months. I have gotten to the point that I forget about it for weeks at a time and really don't expect to ever drive it again.

No, they were at a shop that makes NASCAR engines. They made this years Indy winner.

The problem is they are a "back burner" type item.

A good thing about this is I do not have to shell out for insurance and gas as long as it is in pieces in the barn.

Yea, but the bad thing is you are missing a very short spring driving time in your neck of the woods. I'd be B$*@&*ing everyday if I was you.

If I was in the same situation as Ron (with the coupe) I would get an attorney!

WOW, yesterday afternoon it started raining here BAD, I mean it was the worst rain storm I have seem since I was a little kid, and that is really saying something. There are many trees down in the neighborhood this morning.

The weatherman said that two storm cells ran head on into each other right in our area. There were many counties that had tornado warnings out all night long. So far I haven't heard that anything actually materialized.

Fred, Joe, HLC.... Did you guys all make it through OK? The storm seemed to headed in that direction.

Steve,

I had forgotten about that picture. I also heard about your weather. Ours isn't that bad but on Monday we set a heat record and on Tuesday we set a rainfall record. I looked up our total rainfall for the year and we are still over 1" below last year which was below the year before and our drought is still going strong. And they are saying we will have thunderstorms all through the weekend.

Well that may help fill the lake up some.

You need the rain right now.

Our lake(s) here are still not full but they look so much better now they are at 90 - 92%. The rain has sure helped our water situation. The last time we had good rains to fill the lakes up they let all the water out to help those downstream. This time their lakes are in good shape so we can keep some in house (so to speak)

we came through alright. There was actual tornados on the ground in Collin County. Plano had 2 touchdowns and recorded the area high straight line wind speeds of 78MPH. My Director got a direct hit and his place is tore up bad. The tornados were on a direct path towards me but the storm began to weaken about 10 miles before it reached me and by the time it hit, they recinded the Tornado Warnings saying that the storm was no longer capable of producing a tornado. We had ~50MPH straight line winds at my house. No damage which is good.

5 Blocks away a lightning strike hit a house setting it on fire. The fire dept was on site but couldn't raise the ladder to get the roof because of the lightning. I am not sure, but I think the house burnt completely as they could not fight it effectively.

Joe,

That is good to hear that you escaped any damage. To bad about the house burning. I have been reading some of the news reports on your storm and they sound pretty bad.

Steve,

The record rain for this time of year was .68ths of an inch. So that won't help the water situation any at all as it soaked into the ground, but at least we have a day or so without dust. Also they are wanting more water let out of the dams to help the fish. It seems the fish are more important than the people and farmers who are having to leave thousands of acres bare because of water cuts.

Steve,

The past two months they have added a $3 per month drought surcharge to our water bills and next month the sewer rates are going up from $36.85 to $47.90 and the Garbage rates go from $17.51 to $23.85. There will also be a $5 surcharge added to the sewer rates and this is laid out for the next 5 years with the same increases each July. A lot of people around here have already been evicted from their homes because they couldn't pay the increasing utility bills, and now this is coming so there will be a huge amount of people evicted I fear. The main excuse for all of this is to recover lost revenue due to the shrinking tax base. They haven't figured out that all of the people they evicted last year and the first part of this year are a big part of their lost taxes and the more they force out the less they will get. Politicians do not have the ability to think.

Mother nature seems to have made her presence known in your neck of the woods.

Thanks for the support, I'll get them back.

It has been one of the best springs we have had in years here. nice 65 to 75 degree days and 50 to 60 degree nights. Rain about every two or three days.

Granted the garden would grow better is if were warmer.

Michigan is going to be the bottom of the barrel.

Tru,

All states are hurting but right now I don't believe Michigan is as low as California. The last stats that I saw, we were on the very bottom and digging deeper. Besides you have Govt.Motors to help your economy.
