Steve,

Fred answered your question about why you can't change the name, but to make a screen snapshot, if you want the whole screen junt press the Print Screen key and it will cut that screen to the clipboard. Then go to Paint or any photo porogram yu have and click on Edit in the top line, right next to file and then paste and it will put the screen picture in there. Normally it will be in BMP format so do the Save As a JPG.

If you have a page open on your monitor and it is smaller than the whole screen and you just want that page, then highlight it, make sure the blue bar across the top is lit, and hold down the ALT Key and press the Print Screen Key and it will just copy the highlighted page to the clipboard and not the whold screen.

Friday. I will try again to watch the U.S. Open as it was rained out yesterday. The 18th green was a lake and the hole was about 1/2 inch under water. Why they even started it under those conditions I don't know. Now the few that started and had terrible scores are stuck with them and the rest will get to start when the weather is better.

I hope today is slower than yesterday. I was exhausted by the time I got to leave yesterday.

Joe,

Maybe today will be a good day for you. Hope so. It is supposed to just be in the 80s here today and there is overcast so I would imagine the humidity this afternoon will be a little sticky. My hip and leg are hurting so bad I don't even want to walk on it.

Good Morning all you lucky people with electricity.

Having a farm seems to have some drawbacks in the ability to deliver electrons. So, here we are again with no electricity running on generators. There is nothing like living in the wild.

Tru,

Are you getting a lot of rain there and is that why the electricity is out? At least you have generators. I hope that everything is fixed and working soon.

The Lost Bagpiper

As a bagpiper, I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man who had no family or friends. The funeral was to be held at a cemetery in the remote countryside and this man would be the first to be laid to rest there.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods area, I became lost and being a typical man, did not stop for directions. I finally arrived an hour late. I saw the backhoe and the crew who were eating lunch but the hearse was nowhere in sight.

I apologized to the workers for my tardiness and stepped to the side of the open grave where I saw the vault lid already in place.

I assured the workers I would not hold them up for long but this was the proper thing to do. The workers gathered around, still eating their lunch. I played out my heart and soul.

As I played the workers began to weep. I played and I played like I'd never played before, from Going Home and The Lord is My Shepherd to Flowers of the Forest . I closed the lengthy session with Amazing Grace and walked to my car.

As I was opening the door and taking off my coat, I overheard one of the workers saying to another, Sweet Jeezuz, Mary 'n Joseph, I have never seen nothin' like that before and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years.

Monday morning and I hope that all of you had a great weekend. Mine wasn't bad as I don't remember much of it. I was in bed and unconscious for the better part of Sunday. Saturday is a kind of blur, but I am not sure what I can do at this point in time. Hopefully this spell too will pass soon.

Well, we got electrons delivered Saturday evening.

Man, I need to get new side pipes. The stones and crud has taken their toll on the ones I have.

I spent Sunday working on the Cobra and other things.

Had to rethread a cylinder head...that went well for an hour long process.

Back to work! I used to say hundreds are counting on me, but in Michigan, Thousands are counting on me.

Ron,
I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I know the heat here has really knocked some folks off their feet.

It really isn't that bad yet but it is not playing games this year. I think the heat will be ferocious this year.

Stay isnide and drink plenty of water, you may have over done it in the yard last week.

Tru,

The heads will get finished soon. And then you can start having fun with the car. Sometimes it seems waiting for a part or something takes longer than the rest of the build. Of course since you live in that neck of the woods we expect to see pictures of you driving it with 5' snow banks all around the way Warren did.

Hey Tru,

I saw on the news last night that the City, in some areas in Detroit, are letting the roads turn back to being gravel.

I suppose the spend all the street funds on other things and don;t have the funds to repair the roads.

Ron,

How are you feeling this morning?

You need to just slow down and drink more water, and enjoy your pups.

Life is too short to worry about the grass getting cut.

Well, I am not a fan of ice freezing the hairs on my face into a solid mass.

So, driving the Cobra in the winter is not an option.

Yeah, I know they will eventually get done. Then I get to bolt all the parts back on and start the break-in process.

Haven't heard about streets reverting to gravel. Actually the roads around us have been the best they have been in years. Low number of axel breakers and there seems to be more than normal grading. I actually had rock put down at our drive...very unusual.

I am going to have to forgo the new paint. It is simply too expensive and with the cuts, kids in college and price of things...we need to cover other things.

I've been thinking of putting that garden/small farm site together.

It all takes time.

Tru,

They haven't paved a street here for over 20 years and most of our city streets are just pieces of asphalt with big holes in between. People are driving 6 to 8 blocks out of their way to try and use the better streets but they are now getting as bad with the extra traffic. I think we would be better off if they would just take up the chunks of asphalt and put a gravel bed down for the streets.

I saw a documentary last night on The Crumbling America, or something like that. That is where they were talking about Detroit and others reverting to gravel streets.

America is deteriorating in Highway structure while China is advancing. Imagine that. Where the heck are all those tax dollars going that were supposed to be reserved for streets going?

Steve,

I watched that. It was a good show. They showed the New York water tunnel that is leaking badly but they can't shut it down for fear it will collapse. The whole infrastructure is over aged and falling apart. Sewer systems are leaking and overflowing and they can't do anything about it. To busy wasting money on such things as the California Blueberry Commission and such.
