It is up to about 85 here and I just finished my yard work. Will be going
to our Texas home on the 1st, just in time for the 100 degree heat there.
For the 4th they are having a parade in the community where my house is so we will
probably watch that. I am not going to even think about driving my Kirkham
in it - no worries about dents or overheating that way! I haven't been near a parade
in many years so this will be a change of pace.

BBQ is planned for here.
I was outside yesterday grilling and had to stop and come inside. I almost over did it. I feel like crap today, but getting better. Thermometer out here said 106, then in front of the grill became too much after about an hour. water wasn't enough, so I stopped and turned the grill over to someone else. Came inside for 45 min and cooled off, got lots of water, and by then the temp broke and was cooling down. 100° felt cool by that point.

I am not really sure what we will do if anything.
The community here had their 4Th celebration all day yesterday. I know that sounds crazy but this allows people to be with family actually on the 4Th. So it will work out great for all.
They had a parade in the community. Little ones rode their bikes around a couple of blocks following a firetruck an ambulance and a couple of Sheriff cars.
By the time the kids were done they were worn smooth out. Then there was a pool party at the pool till about 4:30 or so and then a gathering of sorts. Grilling hot dogs, & brats. They had melons and all sorts of other goodies, and bounce houses for the kids.
At 9:30 they had a community fireworks show that lasted about 30 minutes or so. Since we live in the county, the county provided most everything and the firetrucks were close at hand, just in case.
We found a little hill and sat in the truck with the A/C blasting away. The sweet wife had made some home made 'Cracker Jacks" that were fantastic. We had cold iced tea and enjoyed the show.
My son is such a comedian.
When we were headed back home he says, "Happy 27Th of June everyone".

Yesterday was miserable here. Temperature on the thermometer was 108 and the humidity pushed the heat index to around 114. This is going to be one hot Summer I fear.

Tru,
Sounds as if the Cobra is coming along well. Hope that you have it going soon. It has been way to hot here to drive.

We got a lucky break from the heat yesterday as a rain storm moved through. I am afraid though that it is just going to make it worse today. Going to be really humid. Stay cool Ron, 108 is dangerous.

Joe,
We are having a cold wave. It is just supposed to get up to around 104 today. Now if the humidity would just go away.
I don't have any plans for today anyway. Leg is hurting really bad and I feel kind of light headed and it still isn't even light outside.

Sam,
Congratulations and welcome to the club. Classic Roadsters was a very good car and Don Scott ran into legal problems, not of his making but from the people he bought it from. However if you will contact DoubleVenom who posts on here, he may be able to help you as he is an expert on Classic Roadsters and knows where to get some parts still.
Edit: Here is a link to one of Ed's posts. You can PM him from there. How long should I be??

Wednesday and July 1st already. This year seems to be passing fast to me. Maybe because it could very well be my last one. Temperature here for the rest of the week and weekend is just going up and up with the humidity thrown in for good measure. I am surprised there is enough water in the lake to cause any humidity.
All have a great day and remember, Friday is just two days away.

What Supersonic Looks Like,
If I can get this to work so I can attach the picture, you can actually see the waves as a F-22 Rapture breaks the sound barrier. Otherwise you will need to go to the link and see it.

We have a cold wave coming. It is supposed to just be 98 Friday and then back into the 100s Saturday. This red dust here is really bad. Everything around here had a reddish tint to it.

Good morning all. Another warm day for here. I saw in the paper that one of the sidewalks in Redding had to be closed as the heat has caused the cement to expand so much it had pushed two of the big blocks up into the air and left a hole under them.

Steve,
He called me yesterday and is gong to be gone today and tomorrow, but he said then he has it ready to start road testing it and looking for that oil leak that I told you about earlier. It won't leak when just idling, but when he drove it for a short distance he noticed some drops on the floor near the back of the motor and thinks it could be the rear main seal. Other than that and replacing that connector to the oil cooler, he said he thought it was about ready to be buttoned up and start driving it. I hope it isn't the rear main, as the way that car is built I think you have to pull the engine and tranny to get to it.

Well that isn't so bad comparied to what you have had to do to it so far.
And at least he is communicating with you.
So that is a good thing.
