Yea, I am kind of starting to get my hopes up. Maybe next week he will find out if it is the rear main. Once that is fixed, it should be about ready for some shake down runs.

Sounds good.
It'll be nice to have it in your garage for a change.
Where is everyone today?

Steve,
A lot of the people are probably going somewhere for the 4th and not posting much. I can't believe the traffic here. People must figure they had better get in one last weekend of fun before Obama and his group makes it illegal and taxes them out of it.

Yea, before long we will be given a list of groceries we can buy for the month based on how many people live in the home.
And of coarse we will have to pay the $1,000.00 penalty fine for each one that doesn't have the Obama Insurance approved plan.

Well fellow CC comrades...I have heads. Extremely well done heads that look like they were completely done over. Already have them on the car.
RON!!! What is this I hear you may actually get your coupe back???? Dang dude, pretty soon you are going to be prowling the freeways looking for unsuspecting Corvettes and ricers.
I am at the break-over point on the car. I am not longer taking parts off and have actually put some on! I can not explain the great feeling.
I hurt all over...those things are heavy.

Tru,
Congratulations on getting the heads back and now being to the point that you can start putting things back together. You should have it ready to go by the first snow.
As for the Coupe, it will be delayed if that is the rear main leaking as it is quite a job to get to it the way the car is built. If I remember correctly, the front end has to be removed and then the motor and tranny removed together. Not a simple job.

Ron, that doesn't sound right.
The pan should drop right down and then all he has to do is pop the rear cap, replace the seal. Ask him to cant it 3/8 inch so the mend is not at the same place where the cap meets the block.
Should be a hour job on a lift.
I have a new CAM in, lifters, heads, push rods, rocker arms, front cover, buffed and cut guide plates, new seals, oil pan and balancer all in place. I am also pooped.
Tomorrow maybe I will get the solids all adjusted and more parts put back on.

Wow Tru, you are really going to town on your car now that you have the parts back. At that rate you may be driving it before the first snow. I hope so.

Good MONDAY morning to all of you working people. Sometimes it is good to be retired. Also not so bad being broke as I have nothing for any of these thieves to steal.
We are in for another hot week if the weather report is to be believed. It is really dusty around here too.

Ron, I am looking to start it on Tuesday if all goes well.
Tonight is starter, plumbing, headers and maybe pullies. Got the intake on and the valves adjusted. Used the old go-nogo setup as my old bones were really letting me know I had over done it.
What is the word on your coupe????
Steve, what is going on in Texas?
I feel renewed in my passion for my Cobra. I truely hope to be back on the road by the end of the week.

Tru,
That is great news and I hope that everything goes well. We will be expecting pictures of course.
As for the Coupe, I haven't talked to him since last week as they were going to go somewhere for the holiday. I am just hoping that he will drive it some this week and find out if that is a rear main leaking for sure. Then the replacement of the connector at the oil cooler and it should be mostly ready for some real shake downs.

We actually had a semi nice day yesterday, it only got into the upper nineties and we had a little shower or two.
So the heat wasn't so bad but then there was the humidity. Still is wasn't that bad. I am sure we will make up for it today.
The lakes are still looking good right now. The word is they are not letting any more out than absolutely needed downstream. Gotta love that attitude. If they don't need it then it just gets dumped into the Gulf.

I can't believe this. We are having cooler weather this week if they are correct. It is only supposed to be in the upper 80s and low 90s. Today seems cold after what we have been having. But I really prefer this to the triple digit stuff.

Well Steve, they were saying it was nasty across Texas all the way to Florida.
That was the reason for the inquiry.

I am in Montgomery, TX for a couple of weeks and went for a one hour ride
across the lake, down 45 to 105 back to my place just cruising with the
traffic. The Cobra ran great but it was sure nice to get inside an A/C'd house
at about noon. It is a bit hotter here than Hawaii to say the least - no trade
winds blowing across the ocean for some natural cooling. I sure do like the
roads and the fact that the speed limits on them are a lot more reasonable
then you will find in Hawaii.

Hey Flip.
Welcome to Texas. Well at least for awhile anyway.
Tru,
Yea, the heat here has been a b!tch for sure. There have been some rain storms but nothing real bad. I am afraid the heat is here for the duration though.

Mike,
We are having a cold wave this week with temperatures in the mid 80s to low 90s. About 8 to 10 degrees below normal and it seems cold after the two weeks of triple digit temperatures along with the humidity. They have a severe fire warning out here that is suppose to end this afternoon.
