Hello everyone. I have been fighting internet connection issues since last week. Hopefully this post goes through. I finally got tired enough of them and told them to shut it off last night. Now of course it seems to work fine. Out here having the wireless worked great until it grew too big for the one guy to handle, yet too small to hire people to work it. He sold out to a larger company and it went to absolute crap. My only other option is satellite internet, so I have Hughes Net coming out tomorrow morning to install that. Much more expensive, but it does not make sense paying as much as we are and not being able to get on the internet since Thursday. They did not even have anyone working or on call to fix any issues Friday through Sunday. In fact we found out that they never have anyone to fix anything on the weekends.

Joe,
Glad to see you back. Sorry about all of the issues. Hughes should be an improvement over what you have had for the last short time. To much of that once you buy it there is no customer service except when we want to sell you something else. And out here if you do find a place that is open on weekends they don't have anyone working that knows anything.

Mike Z! In about two weeks I should have a car to do the same...if I was in CA.
Progress continues. I'll probably shoot for Wed or Thur to start it now, had a couple of small setbacks and I want to handle those first.
Ron, any word on the seal?

Tru,
He called yesterday. He took it out to drive it and get it warm enough for the leak to start so he could look for it and blew the fuse for the fuel pump.He tried another fuse after checking the wiring to see if it was shorted and it wasn't and that fuse blew as soon as he put it in. The new fuel pump that he got is bad. So now we are on hold while he gets replacement for it.

Ron,
Down here they don't even end fire season they just down grade it! but in the last few years everything from Gaviota to Carpinteria on this side of the mountain has burn up so I think we are safe for a bit.
Tru,
At least you don't have to deal with the nuts and fruits!

Mike,
Up here we spend the Summer with Red, Yellow and Orange fire alerts. So far we have been really lucky and only had a few spot fires, but with all that burned last Summer it is hard for anyone to get into the canyons to start any more right now. Last Winter being so dry they wouldn't let people burn like they normally do.
Has Paradise Camp survived all of the fires down there?

Ron, as soon as he fixes this thing up, you are going to have to tour!!
Well, I know why I hate RTV. damn stuff sticks to everything. BUT, I am a radiator, distributor and 'odds and ends' away from start-up.
May be tonight or tomorrow.

Tru,
Good luck on the start up. You have been working on it long enough and now you should be able to enjoy it. Just take it easy on that gravel driveway and wait until you get on the pavement to really open it up.
You are right about RTV and I use some stuff called The Right Stuff that seems to be the best I have found for stopping leaks and sealing places. It stopped a tiny drip I had on my transmission on the Cobra that I had tried RTV on twice and it would start seeping after a week or so.
Now you are going to have to take Warren's place with descriptions of your drives and pictures.

We are having a few days of well below normal heat and today is only supposed to be in the upper 80s. Really nice after the record heat we had a week ago. But I believe that it is supposed to go back into the triple digits next week.

Yes the weather contributes to confusion. It's suppose to be hot/sunny out..so one would think you could wear shorts..makes sense; until you walk outside and it's freezing..you shouldn't have to wear a down jacket in July -- except in a hockey arena.

Liisa, been there, done that. Both the boys played.
I am ready to fire her up tonight! I have to add antifreeze and bolt on the side pipes.
Dang, I may be on the road this weekend.

Tru,
That is great. It has been a long job and I know that you are really happy to be about ready for the first test drive after the overhaul. I hope everything goes well and no leaks or anything show up. Keep us up to date.

Tru,
Hope that "first run" went/goes well. At least you still have some good driving
weather in front of you so the summer won't be a total loss.
I plan on doing a short run this morning before the temperatures gets roasting.

Flip,
Get used to the hot weather. You will be driving in 110+ one of these days. Right now we have really nice driving weather but it won't last as we are about 10/12 degrees below normal for this time of year. I once drove mine about 75 miles in 118 degree weather and when I got home I was so weak I couldn't hardly stand up. No air movement at all in the car with the seat wrapped around me. That was the main reason I sold it as I can't take this hot weather any more like I used to be able to.
