Good morning Steve
Ron,
We just got back from a nice drive in the country - warm when we left but hot
by the time I returned. Glad i was able to return to the cool confines of our
home with plenty of A/C!

Flip,
I am glad that you got to go for the drive. You will get used to the heat but I am not sure about the species that lives in that area.

Why, Why, Why...
Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead?
Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they already know there is not enough money?
Why does someone

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?

Why are there still apes? They are in Congress!
Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day that mattresses

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?
How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

Ron, I answered a few of those questions once. Guy told me I was taking all the fun out of it.
Ran the car for three minutes last night. Got one gas leak, two oil leaks and no water. This weekend is tuning and tweeking so I can start driving it.
Thanks to you all for your words of encouragment.

Tru,
That isn't bad at all for leaks to show up. The gas leak should be easy and hopefully the oil leaks will be. I have never been able to stop my big block FE from dripping a few drops of oil. I have even used the dye and can't find where they come from so I have just slid a piece of cardboard under it for years as it is only a few drops. Every Ford FE engine I have even had would drip a little oil and I could never get them stopped. The 418 stroker never did drip a drop.
You should with some luck have it ready to go next week so you can start enjoying it.

I'll dry up the leaks.
I have a lot on my plate so I am going to take it nice and easy.
Driving the Cobra next week is now a mission.

Ah, Saturday and I guess that Tru will be hard at work on the Cobra. Good luck with the leaks and I hope they are easy to find and stop.

well it looks like no drive to malibu today. I crash on my motorcycle on the way to work Friday I was only doing about 10mph and the front wheel washed out, twisted my ankle and think my big toe is broken I can barely stand on it.

Darn Mike. that is to bad. I hope the toe isn't broken. I had a big toe broken once and every step I took it seemed I hit it on something. What caused the front wheel to wash out? Did you hit some gravel or something?

Mike
Glad to hear it wasn't any worse than that. Sounds like you dodged a bullet.
Daughter was in a little stage skit last night it was really neat. I miss the days when she was little and did those every few weeks.
They do grow up fast.

Ron,
I wasn't paying attention like I should have been and when I turn I hit a rock about the size of a jawbreaker.

Darn Mike,
I have been over at the Harley Dealers off and on the past month or so talking to them about getting a motorcycle. Now you post this and make me wonder if I am capable of riding one. I am glad that it wasn't worse.

I have crashed at high speed and low speed (mostly on dirt) it seems the low speed ones always hurt more.

Sorry to hear about the wreck but glad you aren't any worse off than you are.
Broken toes are tough,no fun.
Scratch your scooter up much ? Enough 10 mph can get expensive.

Well Saturday is past and I am just about ready to take the Cobra out. I fixed an assortment of other things once I set the timing and carb.
We also made a 2 x 2 to grow horseradish in and put that next to the elevated garden.
All in all, I got a lot done...now I am pooped.
I love these mid-50s temps we are getting at night. Make sleeping easier.
So, if there is anyone that just wants to give me a lot of money so I could retire...I'd probably want to know what the catch is.

Hey, I set the timing at 40 BTDC full advance. Anyone think that is too much??? I'm going to post on All Cobra to get more opinions.
