Ron,
I started out with level one and asked for level two after she pissed me off.
Level two came in and left without saying a word. I asked for level three.
Level three came in and really pissed me off. The hung up on me.
So it looks like HP is going in the crapper. The bad part is ALL of my equipment is HP. Even my calculator is an HP12C for crying out loud.
It seems like they(HP) just don't care about customer service anymore. I think it is some clown in an Asian country and it is their intention to piss us Americans off, so we will buy Chinese crap. But then again I have no idea where the HP stuff is made either.
I will probably order a couple of Dell's tomorrow. I will get rid of all the HP stuff one piece at a time and tell everyone don't bother with HP. However, I have said I would give them through today to respond, so I will hold up my end of the statement. After that...all bets are off and ALL the HP stuff goes out the door never to return.

Steve,
I believe that for the most part you are going to find that customer service, and especially the tech service has gotten very bad on all brands for the most part. Dell will say anything to sell, but don't bet on their support being all that much better than any other. I won't even call them any more since they informed me that it would cost for any question that I asked. They will still load XP which was the deciding factor when I bought my laptop. I just don't like Vista. But that is my own opinion and many people love it.

Ron,
I don't have a choice, I MUST get one with XP and not Vista. Don't get wrong I hate Vista as well. It is a very poorly designed CPU Usage HOG.
Even if I could use Vista I would still not buy it, nor a PC with Vista in it. Why won't these Dumba$$ companies figure out they are loosing busines because of what they are pre-loading into their products.
Yea, yea, I know MS gives them a piece of the pie if they "recommend" Vista and money IS the bottom line, but they are loosing sales because of it.
Wouldn't they be better off letting the client choose what they want so they could sell more, rather than cramming Vista down your throat?
Their argument is: "Ms doesn't support XP any longer"
Who cares I don't need their stinking support. MS is so busy trying to fix the colossal screw-up they call Vista they do not have any resources left to do anything else.

Steve,
That is why I said if I ever get another computer I will have this place here assemble it for me as I shake to much to mess around in the tight places now. And they will clean load any OS that you want including Linux. Also any problem and they are just a few minutes drive away and will take care of it. No tech levels to mess with, and no having to listen over and over to how it must be my browser. I wish they would teach those people another word in English such as monitor or something different from browser. And I have also noticed lately when just browsing the various sites that Dell is one of the better ones to let you more or less chose what you want in the computer. Other sites used to have a selection where you could choose which cards, drives, and etc. that you wanted but now they have just gone to here is what we have and take it or leave it. I like big drives and high end Video cards and I have noticed a drop off in the level of cards several of the various companies are using now.

Right now I have 2 Dell's.My laptop is the Inspiron 9300,never have had any problems.
My desktop had just 2 problems.
1. The famous Power Button fiasco.
2. They built and shipped it to me with only 1 Hard drive when it was suppose to have 2.
Missing HD was discovered during Problem #1.

Fred,
I got a cheap Inspiron 1700 laptop but it does what I wanted to do with it well. I just use it mostly to convert slides into digital pictures and then transfer them to my desktop to print or save. It is much slower than yours but I am in no hurry. I still have a few centuries left to do this. I do have a very nice carrying case for it and the accessories.

Ok, I got an email from HP. It doesn't look like an auto responder but we'll see. There is alot of other info, addresses and such that I have left off the attachment.
Below is their initial response:

Steve,
I build my own computers. I don't use laptops generally. I have a Netbook that was a gift from work and my work laptop, but I have 2 desktops at home. I tend to go overboard and spend about 1K on building one. The last one was $1200. That one is a Dual memory bus Quad Core PC running at 2.6Ghz. 4GB DDR2 Ram, 320GB SATA hard drive, SATA DVD/CD Burner Drive, 3D Radieon 9150 Video Card, plenty of fans, 450 watt power supply, case, 19" wide screen monitor and I bought Windows Vista 64 bit for it. This computer is way overkill for what it is used for, but it will run smoothly for many years as it is not being taxed in any way.

Joe,
I really need a laptop because I have to use it while away from the house.
I really like this one, I wish it would work like I need it to. Yea, it is a little bulkier than the new ones and its a few years old but I like it and it works good.
I found an upgrade chip for the RAM for $62.00 I may just do that and hope for the best. I would like to speed up the processor as well though. By the time I do that and replace the cooling fans (do it while it's open right) I have spent as much as a new one cost with twice the HD capacity.
So, basically I am screwed, as for keeping this one. Unless there is something I don't know.
I am sure there is something I don't know..... grrrrr

Okay team, here is the situation.
The CAM, valve seals, lifters, springs, push rods seals and gaskets are all new. SO is the brand of oil filter.
I have 7 quarts of mobil1 15w-50 a 2 bottles of STP ( for the ZDDP ).
Why is the oil pressure 20 pounds lower than before the CAM swap.
The only thing I can think of is the oil filter, I have never used this brand before, or the CAM bearing to CAM clearance is too big.
Any other ideas why I am down 20 pounds?
I have swapped the oil out once with the same results. The lifters are solids where the old ones were hydraulics. This shouldn't make difference as I have the lifter valley restricted.
Can the oil filter be a POS?

Tru,
What kind of oil pessure are you taking about? I have always been told 10 pounds per 1000 RPM and you are good.
Well I could not stand sitting around the house any more so I went to work today, Didn't move very fast but I got ur done and the foot feel a lot better.

I used to idle at 40 PSI, now I idle at 20 PSI. My upper pressure at cruise was 80 to 100 PSI, now I am at 50 to 70.
This is the first time I have used a Mobil 1 filter. I am wondering if a filter can make that much difference in my engine.

Tru,
I once changed my oil and tried some new filter that I had never heard of and it did lower my pressure but not that much. I also took it off just as soon as I got home and went back to the ones that I normally used. Your pressure is a lot higher than mine ever was, but different engine and set ups will run different pressures. Cold mine is right at 60 pounds and it idles when very hot at around 30/35.
Filters don't cost a lot. Get a new one and try it.
