Flip,

I agree with you. Just go spend a year or so in the Far East excluding the show cities and Japan and you will see poverty that is never shown on any news broadcast. We are very well off here and that is why so many people want to come to the states.

Man are we getting the rain.

It is great, but I have already started the prep for winter.

No jokes about droving in the snow you guys.

I think I will post the opening page to CNN and MSNBC and call it, "Look news on one page" instead of each article linked to a thread.

Well it seems that Fall may have finally arrived. It was in the low 100s over the weekend and just in the 80s yesterday and supposed to only be 85 today. It is nice to have a break from that heat. Also hope that we get some rain soon to lower the fire danger. Darn, I have to drag out some jackets to wear.

Tru,

Would you believe that it was 102° here Sunday and this morning it is 47? The high yesterday was just 84 and I saw a lot of people with jackets and sweat shirts on. These big and sudden drops in temperature get harder to adjust to as I get older. I also heard they were getting some rain in the mountains. We need a lot of it here but not the down pours. What we need is a long, steady rain so this hard baked ground can start to soak in some of it. A downpour would just run off into the rivers and maybe cause some slides where the fires have burned the mountains clear.

Ron,
They are so nervous about mudslides here that they have got airplains spredding mulch on the hills!

Mike,

They spent the last few months covering all of the burned off hills around here but we have to get some rain before anything can slide. We have had a couple of small ones due to earthquakes but nothing major. But if we were to have a few hours of hard down pour rain, I think half the mountains around here are ready to slide. And the bad thing is that grass won't grow on most of these places, just manzanita and other brush.

Thanks Ron, that is pretty neat. I have often wondered when we will find the oldest fossil we will ever find. I will have to look for more articles.

It is getting cold here. It was just 47 two mornings ago and is supposed to have a high in the low 70s early next week. But still no rain in the forecast though there was wind.

With all the rain and cool weather, one cobra showed up on our run this weekend.

Great people. The wife and I are enjoying ourselves.

I'll have to sort out the names later.

It is 42° here this morning and cold. We sure went from Hot summer days into cool Fall ones in a hurry. I believe the high today was forecast to be around 67.

Tru,

I have my heavy coat out and also have the heater on this morning. This going from 100/105 to the 40s and 50s overnight is to hard for an old fart like me to adjust to.

doing the same thing here Ron. Except we are getting light rains. Kind of chilly today with a high of 65.

Had a great time out with the other cobra people.

We got a couple cases of wine. It was good diversion from the everyday grind.

Got my CR to my warehouse for storage until I can get the body work done.
Took one of my work vans home with an extension ladder and trimmed the
coconut tree finally. Great weather for doing that kind of stuff. Not the most
fun but it is done for another few months. Talk about a bunch of coconuts!
Them buggahs are heavy.
