anyone had this peoblem?
My wifes '03 Aviatior had a transmission problem about a year ago. I took it to my transmission guy and he said Ford had a tech bulletin on the Aviator/Exployer models about a bad module. I took it to the Linclon dealer and they had the car for two weeks, they said they put in a new module but Apparently their computer was down so they couldn't get online to Ford to update our cars computer. Due to the fact that the car had 26,000 miles and was within the three year warranty period they didn't charge me a dime. Now a few days shy of one year later the car is acting up again. It seems like the tranny is not shifting into 2nd 3rd or OD and the engine revs up until it kicks in. Almost feels like it needs fluid. At any rate the dealer says now the warranty period is over (3 yrs. or 50,000 miles) and any service done will be at my cost. Funny thing is, it doesn't happen all of the time. They said they had taken the car for a long ride with diagnostic
gizmo on but could not find any error codes. I asked them if they had checked the fluid ( apprently you need special tools to do that)??, they hadn't ,and said if the car goes up on the rack for anything it will be at my cost. Car now has 32,000 miles on it and is a real cream puff. Any one had similar problems??
