The Name Game Song ---

Hey, Fast Farmer...how'd the harvest go?

Fred -- now that you've changed your title to Alien Fred...I half expect you to have antenna's like in the sitcom My Favorite Martian.. I never think of aliens as the illegal ones.

In the Name of Love -- U2

Today, I got expert assistance in directing me to on what type and place I should get the oil changed in the wagon..but then I think I went overboard...when I got the vacuum out to suck up loose dirt when I replaced the air filter.. ... but makes me think it's time to replace all the filters in the house and clean the window screens.

Love is What I Got - Sublime

No...I just bought it used -- I had been getting random check engine light.. so when I had the oil changed.. thought maybe the air filter could be replaced...and when it was pulled back...there was some loose dirt on the sides -- and the air filter was really due to be replaced... okay.. let's just say looked alot like a gravel pit.. I knew it wasn't right...and the vacuumm seemed logical.. -- unfortunatley the "check engine light" is still showing up randomly... I'm thinking before I take it in..I might add some fuel injector cleaner to the next gas fill... and problem solved..?? maybe

grocery getter - maybe... but it hauls hockey equipment and a huge overweight dog like no tomorrow... and the gas mileage is great... and... should last me well into 150+K miles... and it's has a turbo.. handles excellent and heated leather seats.

Love Her Madly - Doors

When you have to rent a back hoe to clear the rocks out from around your air cleaner...It's due.
No reason to waste cash on an air filter until they need to unload the back hoe off the trailer.

But isn't an air filter one of the main components that enables a car to perform at the best capacity?? I like how cars handle.. and the whole safety thing.. but the rest of it... not a clue.

No air,big problems.
You should be able to see light thru the pleats of the filter.Hold it up to a light and check it out. Very easy and important.

Take your car to a parts house like Auto Zone. They can put a hand held gizmo on and tell you what the codes are and what they mean.
You will do it for free.

I replaced the air filter (and..you wouldn't be able to pass any light prior ... after sucking out all the dirt on the sides of the air filter...and getting the oil changed/oil filter replaced... unfortunatlely the "check engine" light pops up rather randomly. Do you think the fuel cleaner might help? I do use premium gasoline...and on my "expert" advise... added full synthentic oil.. ??

You're being kind to offer suggestions.. believe me...I won't tell a soul..about this..

Okay,I'm counting on you.

Fuel injector cleaner could help.

I've seen bad/loose fuel filler caps cause the light to come on too.

I really would get the codes run. From that you will know what is turning the check engine light on.Otherwise we are really guessing and could spend money needlessly.

Auto Zone,O'Reily, etc. can do it real quick and free.Lots of times,if it's simple, they will help out with putting a simple part on.

Would that cause the light to sometimes illuminate..and sometimes not?? I've been watching it...and it seems to come on..aprrox. 3/4 to 1/2 tank of gas..? I know I need to bring it in.. some of it is procrastination on my part.. but otherwise it's lack of time.

It Sure could.
Hints like that are good.

A dealership or other repair shop may not be needed to fix your problem.

Next time the light comes on shut off the engine and go back and remove and then put the gas cap back on good. While you have it off look at the seal/gasket on the cap where it contacts the filler neck.Is it there and in good shape ?

I will do that... and what did you do - prior to taking on the easier way of life?? Alien or Martian -- you've given some really good thougts towards my issue. I really do appreciate your input. I certainly won't tell the 'sisters' how nice you've been... I've already had my share of issues with sick dogs - and robbers... I DON'T need the Sisters at my door.

we really hijacked the game..
