Fred,
You had better beef up your border patrols on the West side. Everyone is telling our illegals how nice it is in Texas with all of the open spaces and furnishing them with bus fare.
My last time being pulled over was in 1969 and the judge threw the ticked out. Cop claimed that I ran a stop sign and I had several witnesses who were behind me as we waited for the traffic on the Boulevard to get past. When I pointed that out to the cop, his remark was, If you can afford that Cobra you can afford a ticket no matter if it is right or not. I had just gotten the 69 Cobra about 4 months before that. When the judge heard that he really chewed the cop out and told him if he ever heard of anything like that again from him he would have his badge. And this wasn't one of the young, just out of the academy power happy ones either.

Pirates in that area are a thing of the past. They only stole your boat to ship the drugs They now use ultra high speed boats, and even more, they flying stuff in. Who wants to hang around doing 10 mph when you can be doing hundreds? They only stole your boat to ship the drugs. Of course they would kill you too....LOL
Years ago when we would charter boats to go to the Bahamas. There would be enough weapons to supply a small task force, and of every flavor too! Now that things are peaceful, and the locals love us. I only take my 2 pistols, and they are under lock & key.
I think the concern now is someone carrying a bomb, or smuggling humans. Then again what do I know. I am just a muffler man who likes to sail.

Profiling...
Looking back, my window tint (which is, uuuh... only slightly illegal) might have spooked that Tejas Hypo, even at 8PM on a Sunday night.
But when he saw a fat old bald guy with no passengers, no odor of alcohol, and a handicapped hanger, who had not been speeding and was not driving erratically, he should have apologized for the inconvenience and sent me on my way.
I know "profiling" is illegal, but this is the real world. Maybe he didn't like my sequential taillights (they are 'way cool on a Mustang!) and was having a bad night.
North of Sherman, Tejas on US69, September, '07.

Oh, profiling is illegal, but only on paper. Without profiling we would be in deep poop. It's the same with torture - it's illegal, but when the rubber meets the road, it's always an option, especially when 1,000's of lives are at stack = that what I cannot stand about McCain.
