Wayne,
Doesn't surprise me they went on like that.I've never set foot in one of those places.Don't plan to either.

I drink more coffee than anything else.About 1 pot a day.
Straight up,no milk/cream or sugar.

Don't want some multi flavored hot milk shake with a hint of coffee.

Roscoe,

I will have to remember the tackle box line. That is funny as h3ll, and a great comparison.

Heck I thought I was the only one that didn't care for the TASTE of Star Buck coffee. Yeah, it's no wonder you have to load it up with 'stuff'. Seattles Best is actually good, I get that when I can (not often).

...and whats with this Kona Coffee thing? Not wanting to be anti-Hawaiian, but gimme a break, that stuff is terrible.

Folgers, works for me.

My cousin and his wife vacationed in Jamaica a couple years ago, he went on and on about 'blue mountain coffee', nothing like it, fantastic bla bla bla. He said it definitely had something besides caffeine?. I'm not surprised, when you ride the bus from the airport to the hotel, no less than 8-10 hands stick through the window with a bag of $10 smoke.

I have completed three tours to Iraq and we had Starbucks coffee donated to each unit I was with there.

Starbucks does not donate to anything as a corporation (Starbucks stores are corporately owned, except for the licensed stores at airports, Barnes and Noble, etc), but allows local stores to support local charities as they see fit. Our local stores in the Killeen, TX/ Fort Hood area send coffee to our troops on a regular basis.

It may also interest you to know that Seattle’s Best Coffee is owned by Starbucks!

Roscoe, I think I owe you, lemme see, two orders of (my) country ribs, 2 pounds of Okie-fried okra, and at least two black-and-tan coon dog pups.

The only jarhead I have any respect for.

I stole your comment, "The punk behind the counter had enough face jewelry that he looked like my tackle box."

I'm working quietly and diligently to turn you into an Okie.

Actually, I just have to stand back and watch. You are doing it all by yourself.

HEE-HEE!!

Hmmmm...now lemme see...

We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee;
We don't take no trips on LSD
We don't burn no draft cards down on Main Street;
We like livin' right, and bein' free.

I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all

NOW can I date your daughter??????

Roscoe, funny you would remember the lyrics to that disgusting tune from the '60's, we laughed like hell where I grew up in SoCal when we first heard it.

Yup, date her all you want. After 8 years, and many false starts, she graddiated college last May with a BS in Occupational Safety and Health and a BA in Communications with a Binness minor. She was 26.

Her eddication aged UT 8 years X 3.

I have an 8X10 of the below picture, the most expensive photograph I have ever been exposed to. Cost UT $36K+.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The next generation. They are all, as I see it, what we have.

I repeat, what are they gonna do when we are too old to support them?

Just took an anti-acid so I could say, "Semper Fi."

Starbucks was terrific on helping out with our Christmas Toy Drive; we filled up four trucks with toys for kids at the Shriner's hospital.

The only toy I thought was odd was the Jesus Christ action figure.

I liked Dietrich's Coffee better, but Starbucks has free internet access.

Your pal,
Meat.

U.T.,

She is a very pretty and intelligent girl and you should be proud of her. Merle Haggard has a ranch about 20 miles from me. I haven't seen him around for a while but used to see him quite a bit as he hung around out here and at the lake between trips.

Ron, Merle Haggard is still kickin'?

I grew up in Bakersfield, went to HS with Buddy Allen Owens, who somehow connected me to Haggard's outfit, Hagco Productions and Shade Tree Music.

Did a few studio sessions with the old 12-string while I was trying to attend college.

Neither worked out.

U.T.,

He was still kicking the last time I saw him but as I said, that was some time ago. I just figured he must be on tour again or gone somewhere as I haven't seen him for close to a year now.
