If I never get back in a huey.....It'll be too soon. Other than that, I'll support any worthwhile charity foundation.

I took my Dad (WWII B-17 co-pilot and POW) on a flight with this organization last summer. He still can't get the grin off his face or the glint out of his eyes. It was the best thing I've ever done for him. We met a few of the remaining "greatest generation" members in Casper, WY and Loveland, CO...there aren't enough words to describe the experience.
I see they've added a P-51 in addition to the Huey; now that would be a ride!
I agree with Cobra Bill - if they are in your area - GO!

I'd like to see the shots from one of the shows. Or the formation going up the coast.

I went for a forty minute flight in the B-17 two years ago in CT. If they bring their planes anywhere near your home town don't miss the opportunity to go for a flight. It will definitely go in your unforgettable folder! The purchase price for your ride is tax deductible as a charitable donation to the Collins Foundation. I would go again in a heart beat. So would my wife.

Museum is about 40 miles away from my house. Visited about 5 years ago. Fantastic collection of planes and cars. Well worth the ride from anywhere in New England.
The owner leads the groups thru the garages and hangers, explaining everything.
Here is an article I wrote for my car club on the visit.

did the B-17 at Love Field in Dallas for my birthday a few weeks ago.
awesome! flew right over my kids school and my house. Took lots of photos! very very cool.
Next year??? maybe the P-51 they bought the week before my flight.
a bit pricey on the 51 though.
a two seater trainer, of course.
great great time, awesome opportunity for those of us that have never flown, been in these birds, and a worthwhile place to deposit a little bit of money.
I've been meaning to upload photos to snapfish and link here, just haven't. Maybe later.
I would do it again in a 'heartbeat'. My brother went with me, and we stopped at a 'good' hobby store and bought a couple of models. You know, i do like the models of what i do!!!
If i don't do the p-51, i'll do the B-24 next time.

Terry,
I really liked the pictures. I went to see them when the Confederate Air Force was here years ago at an air show but never had time to go for a ride. They did do some mock bombing passes with bags of flower and the fighters did some mock runs. I enjoy anything old and those bombers were certainly not made for comfort. That is where the leather flight coats that are so popular now if you can get one came into being. Thanks for posting the pictures.
