Default What's the status of your bank?

I use a little three branch country bank for their 'excellent' service. After reading about continued bank failures, I though I would do a little checking, my bank is rated above average.

Just in case you guys wanna check yours......

Interesting link Perry. I received a report from my bank some time back and this verifies it. Mine is a 4 star and a 2 rating.

Thumbs up

...

Thanks for the link, Perry.

I'm sure this link on Bankrate is safe but even this sort of website could make a great start to a phishing site. All the scam artist would have to do is collect which banks people checked which would indicate exactly which banks they are likely to use. Then sending a very realistic looking query from ones own bank would look exceptionally legit, if it was possible to peg a particular computer through discreetly installed software. A fake, but targeted, bank site could ask for a log-in to review personal accounts. It would seem so real.

I checked mine, they're 4 and 2 like Ron's. But, just to be on the safe side, I would be quite suspicious if a directed inquiry from my bank followed my foray. So I checked a couple of banks I don't use also. Just a further thought.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Wes,

You aren't paranoid. We are all out to get you. I know the director of my bank and they don't send anything out via mail or any other way asking for information. If they want to know anything that has to do with your accounts they will either call and ask you to come in or send a notice via mail asking you to come in. They don't send e-mails to anyone.

But you are correct that someone will most likely try this as there seems to be no end to scams. By the way if you will just send me a signed blank check, I will run a check on your account for you.

Ron

Warren,

Since you have to use the National treasury to hold all of your money they wouldn't list that. And you can always contact one of those people that are offering you millions to help them get their money into your accounts and ask them to check it out for you.
