LOL...there ya go, WHAT, Brent ?

I understand the quotation, but this whole episode was NEVER written in the original Greek versions of the New Testament. It was introduced into a LATIN translation MUCH later. Doesn't really matter since the sentiment is quite inspirational, no matter who said it, butt even accepting the incredible 'long shot' that the ORIGINALS were a literal version of what was actually said, THIS particular one was NEVER part of the ORIGINALS.

Not wishing to get off the track of this thread, but the New Testament alone has more than 200,000 known 'errors' that have been introduced since the original gospels were drafted! This is just one of the more well known ones. The 'Vulgate' translation in particular introduced a significant number of the errors, and the King James a whole bunch more. It may well have been the "word of god" 2000 years ago, but the "tools of man" have rendered it VASTLY different than the original message!!!

To let everyone know, I don't subscribe to the whole DaVinci Code "Bible is full of errors..." scientific approach. To me, that's just an excuse to those who don't want to live up to the teachings of the Bible. Hey, if Jesus wasn't who he was, then why should we have to do anything, right?

Like you, I don't wish to get this thread off track....this isn't something that needs to be discussed any further publically, just like politics. It doesn't get any prettier from here, it usually just ends up in a spat, but I'd be happy to talk to you about this offline, through an email or PM.

I deleted a response here...LOL...too inflammatory, and Brent is correct...NOT the place to debate religion!

Smile You Guys Are Nothing If Not Predictable

So I am messing around fixing up a room, and wanting to do anything but paint, I think to myself: "Wonder what Jamo and the other shrub lovers are doing since Obama has been selected as the presumptive Democratic nominee?"

I come back for a few minutes to find that you guys will never let me down!

Have a fantastic evening!
