Al, size alone will not necessarily help you reach the limitation. Resolution may need to be reduced depending on the detail, color and light in the pic. The 39kb limit is extremely low so as to reduce the number of pics that are carried on the bandwidth around this place when something is attached to a post...easier on the system to put it in the Gallery and link it. You can put higher resolution pics in the Gallery and maintain quality for a 640X480, which is a good size for posting in threads. I always recommend folks download the free Adobe Photoshop Elements since it gives you the ability to do these things...I don't know about your program (it may as well).
Also note that thumbnails are used for attachments, again to protect the bandwidth. There is a sticky on All Cobra Talk to help you through a lot of this, or you can PM me or Ron.
