Finally!!!!!!
Just listen to Bush urging the congress to get busy and open drilling ASAP.
At least it's a start. Two other folks I know have closed down their business.
I know it's a commodity but, it's more a necessity!!!!!!

Perry, the entire process will take years to bring to fruit. The ruin of many will only take a few days or months.

Something's gotta give....and soon. I'm in pretty good shape as all my equipment is paid for. I's just really sad to see some good folks take a hit.

Here's a better idea...
Urge your representatives in Congress to lift the $.54/gal import tax on ethanol from Brazil and our gas prices will drop drastically.
They seem intent on propping up Agri-Business. Now I read that the farmers can't plant corn because the fields are so wet and/or they had half their corn crop washed away. Gee...now we are going to have higher food prices AND an ethanol shortage!

Value of the dollar has to be pushed up a bit for short term relief.

i have to agree the dollar being down is playing a major role in fuel prices.
since oil is also traded globally in dollars its hurting everyone. opec is having some voodoo meeting today, cross your fingers that they dont decide to
trade on the euro. cause it'll be time for pitch-forks and torches.

That other shoe's been waiting to drop...only a matter of time unforunately if we don't move the dollar up.
Our own products will cost a bit more on the world stage and suffer sales, so it is a balancing game.

The whole thing is just a front for us to start accepting the Amero.
We have been set up, and like lambs to slaughter, "we" voted for what we have sown.

Bill,
That was very interesting reading. Really makes you stop and think doesn't it. And with oil now ready to top the $150per barrel mark, farmers hard hit by weather and other factors, I wonder just what changes they are talking about. Just once I would like to hear one of them state some specific changes and not the same old rhetoric about we need changes.

80% of the world's known oil supplies are coming from countries that are run by dictators, military or royal families. They want to maximize the dollar return. The worldwide demand has gone up tremendously, especially in India and China.
The price increase is probably 90% due to increased demand, while the supply has been held back by the exporting countries.
We got to start building more refineries and start drilling where we know there is oil on our land.

Interestingly enough it would seem that
1) the MAJORITY of the American people know and agree with this, and the MAJORITY of our politicians appear to neither know it nor agree with it.
2) the MAJORITY of the American people know and agree that bioethanol is a "net negative" fuel and we are being sold a bill-of-goods, and the MAJORITY of our politicians appear to neither know it nor agree with it.
3) the MAJORITY of the American people WANT bipartisan solutions to the ECONOMIC problems facing us, and the MAJORITY of our politicians don't even know how to spell BIPARTISAN or to understand the simple phrase "for the good of the American people".
Democrat and Republican elected officials alike are increasingly self-centered. Each will destroy our way of life, but in different ways. Surely their must be SOMETHING better??????
