I wanna shoot something....anything!!!
Perfect example of a small, inexperience, wanna-get-in-on-the action, rookie police getting out of hand. Anyone that would shoot a lab should be neutered.

I totally agree!
The cops in this case were just being the "normal out of control hired guns". Most cops just want to beat somebody up or if possible shoot some and feel justified about it. These guys should be prosecuted and then allowed to shoot themselves.
It's out of control!!!!! Labs love everyone,
Sorry about all this, Bill

Terrible story....but on a lighter side-- if the drugs were his he would have been a shoe-in for the next election. Look at the success of mayor Barry!

Most Bills just want to bad mouth cops...........hmmmmmmmmm......stereotypical?? Yes, exactly my point. Bill, I'm sorry if youv'e had some bad experience with cops that make you think that "most" just want to beat somebody up or possibly shoot someone, but I don't think "most" cops feel that way. If they did we would have way more incidents the we do. Yes, there are some cops out there that think they are "GODS" once they strap on the Badge and Gun, and I as aa 30+ year LEO am ashamed to be associated with them.
As far as the incident;
I somewhat agree!
Since I don't know the "TOTAL" story but rather what only what the Media wants me to know I have to withhold total judgement on this raid issue. Shooting a couple of Labs does sound extreme but were those labs in attack/protection mode trying to protect their family from a threat?? If so, the officers probably felt threatened from the dogs, not justifying the shooting of the dogs until "ALL" other attempts of controlling them were exhausted, which sounds like was not the case. Now we have a couple of dead dogs, a saddened family, and hopefully an officer or two that feels bad about shooting the dogs, all because of the DEVIOUS actions of some unscrupolus drug dealers.

Correct Earl, most are 'not' out of control but, when the ones that are...are, it's usually bad.

Just found out one of the labs was shot in the 'back'!!......There's absolutely no excuse for that kind of behaviour. The entire department should be fired.

Hey Earl, your right most cops are really good people that start out with the best of intentions...you know they want to, serve the public, reduce crime, stop the speeders and drunk drivers and of course get those drug users and perverts off the streets. I commend those that keep that goal in mind and I fully support them and appreciate their efforts.
Now with that being said, those few "Suspect Cops", that just want to have fun by ruffing up some stupid teenagers or hot rodder and the like...Hey, that's OK the kids got to learn to play safe and to get a long.
Now, there are some really strong minded Cops out there that experience a great day when they can just shoot something .... a dog, a gang members, an illegal person, or anyone that points something at them.
I have more than 30 years in working LA and some professional associations with the LA SWAT team and let me tell you, they do enjoy shooting the bad guys. I suppose it's just the job and being involved with the worst part of our population that make these guys feel the need to take the actions they take.
Earl, I'm not trying to "slam all law enforcement", but sometimes things get out of hand and people get hurt that shouldn't get hurt. I lived for over fifty years in Los Angeles and worked in association with many police officers..most are fine people, but a few are "shooters".
I guess I'm kind of tired of hearing about some of this crap. Bill
