I'm getting a kick out of watching the news boys trying to figure this one out. Most all discussion centers on Miss Sara and 'O'NO!.

I was actually going to vote for McCain until he made this choice. Sorry folks, I HAVE to disagree with his choice here.
She does have an impressive record in Wasilla, Alaska (!), but this DOES not prepare her for World Politics, and over the next four years we HAVE to mend the world's perception of us as bumbling amateurs when it comes to the international stage...IF John McCain DOES win, every person in America better be praying for him to live, EVERY DAY FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS!
NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR ME!
Sorry
|
So what are you going to do? Vote for Obama? Not vote at all? (which is, of course, a vote for Obama). Vote a 3rd party candidate? Write in? (again, ALL votes for Obama).
Don't be silly. Give the gal a chance to tell us who she is. I suspect we are all going to be pleasantly surprised.
Mike (the sad part is, there are a lot of folks out like Glynn... people who see a woman get a shot and then shoot at her)

The fact that she would slap down Ted Stevens is enough for me.....the Senator and the Gov have my vote.

DON'T YOU DARE!!! DON'T YOU DARE, BO!!! You get away with a LOT of bs on this forum, but this is NOTHING to do with her being a woman...I don't give a rat's a$$ what gender she is!!!!!!!!!!! It is EVERYTHING to do with her EXPERIENCE and HER 'PRESENCE' ON A WORLD STAGE!!!!
Just because I disagree with you, challenge me all you like as it is fun to verbally spar, BUT DON'T YOU DARE accuse me of being sexist!!!

No he doesn't shoot my argument to pieces! I am NOT questioning McCain's ability to run this country, just like I never questioned Reagan's (GREAT president!!), what I am questioning is IF he dies in office, is this (i.e. Palin) the person we want to be the most powerful person in the world...sorry to disagree with you guys (which would, unbeknownst to me, appear to be a mortal sin!!), but I THINK NO!

My my, what live wire or nerve did I touch?
crud... here we go again. Calm down, dewad your panties.
All I was doing was pointing out that if you are a conservative (and now I am wondering) then what OTHER choice do you have?
Waste your vote? Give the gal a chance... she looks pretty convincing to me so far. I do not give a rat's patooty about the "heart beat" argument. She most likely can kick some serious intellectual butt, yours & mine included.
BTW Glynn "I've been here since 2007" Meek, just what the heck are you talking about with regards to my getting away with "BS" on this forum? Remember, threatening fellow members is not allowed. Just because you disagree with me does not mean you can use a veiled threat.

Mike, I NEVER claimed to be a 'conservative', but I do vote Republican and, believe it or not, there CAN be a difference between 'Republican' and 'conservative'...LOL...the depressing thing is that I feel McCain just diminished the Republican ticket!

Mike, just exactly where did I 'threaten' you, veiled or otherwise
Threat - a declaration of an intention or determination to inflict punishment, injury, etc., in retaliation for, or conditionally upon, some action or course; menace:
What did I say that, in any way 'threatened' you? I merely told YOU not to accuse ME of sexism (i.e. YOU started it!) , there was absolutely NO declaration of intention or determination to inflict any retaliation or retribution in ANY statement I made!

Oh sorry, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, I did NOT realize that forum longevity (Mike, "I've been here since 2003") automatically made your arguments more valid...who knew? Mike, don't be disingenuous, in the 'brief' couple of years I have been on here, even YOU have to admit that some of your postings have been (how shall we say?) somewhat contentious!
and all you observers should NOT be warming up the popcorn...rofl!!!

Considering what may be the incorrectly obvious reasons for the choice of Palin... why wouldn't he choose Condoleezza Rice?
I would have picked her over Palin.

Howdy,
It's election time again boys and girls, and as most of you know, I'm a left wing nutjob liberal. Being a gun toten liberal, One of the few things that I don't like about the Democratic Party is their stand on gun control.
Anyway, I was listening to Obama's speach last night while I was looking at porn on the net (being a open-minded liberal, it's ok to look at porn, dance, let people know that you drank, etc), And I got to thinking (yes, it did hurt a little!).........
Obama says "I'll change this and I'll change that", but he never says how he'll change this or that.
Health care. O says he'll provide HC for everybody, and if you already have HC, he make it cheaper. OK. I didn't realize this was the POTUS's job. Plus he never says how or who will pay for it. Not even the slightest hint.
Gee, the more I listen to O, the more confused I am.
When voting, I make a list of the top 10 things that are important to me, like ......Gun control, the enviroment, my taxes, the deficit, education, the economy, employee rights (that's employee, not employer) and a few others, then rate the person on the subject.
McCain has been around long enough that we can look that his voting record and see what he stands for. Same with Hillary. Since I'm from Arkansas, I've known of Hillary since the 70's so, I kinda know what she stands for. Some I agree with, some I don't. Same with McCain.
With O, almost everything is a question mark, except gun control, which he get's a f-.
I just don't trust O.
I wish McCain would have picked Mike Huckabee, but with a choice between McCain and O, I'll have to go with McCain. Plus McCain is a veteran.
McCain '08.
Hillary '12. Hillary's catch phrase of 2012.........
"You should have picked my in '08!"
Paul

Well I like her and it will be refreshing to have someone in that nest of Vipers who isn't one of the entrenched Good Old Gang. As for lack of Foreign Policy knowledge, NoBama doesn't even show a knowledge of national policy, let alone Foreign Policy. Elect him and we become the next France. Do away with guns, get rid of the military, he will sit down and talk his way into a nice position with his Muslim buddies, maybe even 2nd to Bin Laden.
OBama Is A Disaster Waiting To happen To this country.

I noticed all of the liberal media already wondering about her experience for the job. To tell you the truth, I think her experience of running a huge state is GREATER than Obama's experience. Just my 2 cents worth. She will definitely capture a portion of Hillary die-hards. I think she will add a lot to McCain's campaign. And I believe any negative comments about her experience will hurt Obama in the long run.
I think she is an excellent choice, and a better choice than all of the people that were "believed" to be in the running for the VP slot.
PS - Just did a spell check and it highlighted " Obama's" as incorrectly spelled. It suggested " IBM's" ... I wonder if that is the computer company or Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles?

It's a great choice...I love it. She got the goods, is an independent thinker that won't put up anyone's crap and fits the super women bill. She was perfect pick foor McCain and will help him get elected.
I would follow her anywhere...they even have written great songs about her and I know she knows what a Cobra is.

Wow! Talk about confused!??!!??! Never thought I would even remotely ever agree with Howdy Doody ( ) on anything. Tip of my hat to Stengun.
(of course, that will prolly piss him off, but I was not intentionally trying to do so)
Don't ya just love election time? People get so easily POd. Glyn, reach for the tongs.
Also, I need to tip my hat to Steve (VRM).

Funny!
But no, I was talking about Stengun... normally my arch nemesis.
I keep wondering though about Glyn " Don't you dare do that" Meek. If it was not a threat of sorts, then what was it? I mean, if I DO dare do that ( ), THEN what??
If I say (in person) to my kids Don't you dare do that and they do it anyways, trust me, feathers will fly. If I say that on a thread with a " " at the end, then it sounds like action is forthcoming, no?

There is only one word that describes McCain's pick:
"Desperation"
If McCain had been a shoe-in, he would have gone a totally different route.

I thought it was more a slap in the face. a neener neener neener, I got 'yer change, a woman VP.
VP pick really is pomp and circumstance, unless, of course, death or incompetence (which would be a real stretch given prior presidencies) ensues. Which I wonder if Obama knew he would get tired looking over his back wearing Kevlar with Hillary as his choice.

In the questioner all potential VP's must fill out, she left the part blank where it said...do you want to be VP. She said she wouldn't indicated anything until someone told her exactly what the VP job consist of.
When she was elected governor, she immediately grounded the governor's plane and found another job for the cook.
I like her more and more...
I like her more and more....
