Absolutely...Yes...Correct!...My error on his name, it's 'Adam' Hanft's article in the huffington post, with which I totally agree. Hillery, like 'O'NO! have a flimsy resume at best, 'O'NO!'s claim to fame, is his oratorical finesse that sucked in a bunch of folks, including YOU!.

I would happy to start in on Biden whenever your ready.

That's very revealing, your position that Palin's expertise for VP (and thus potentially the POTUS) is more significant than Hillarys.

Clearly, your political views are so slanted toward the Republican side your unable to grasp basic logic and reason when it comes to selecting a candidate.

No offense intended, just a very revealing stance you've taken there...

“In case anyone was still wondering whether John McCain is running the sleaziest, most dishonest campaign in history, today Karl Rove -– the man who held the previous record -– said McCain’s ads have gone too far.”

Certainly true here on Club Cobra AND so it goes for the rest of the nation.

Again....There is not one single example of any legislation with her name appended to it. In fact, the page devoted to her Senate biography is a mush-mash, a laundry list of good intentions. When she talks about "sponsoring" and "introducing" and "fighting for" legislation that obviously hasn't passed, that's a smokescreen for failure. By introducing all that legislation that never makes it out of committee, she's guilty of what she accuses Senator Obama of: confusing "hoping" with doing.

Ernie, if you can debunk the above, please do, were all waiting.....

That question was simple enough, who's more qualified as a VP, Palin or Hillary. The question itself is rather pointless because Hillary is not going to be VP. Just an interesting insight as to who the best choice might have been.

I don't care much for Hillary and all the 'baggage' she brings with her, but from a purely political standpoint, I think she is significantly more qualified than Palin. Who's qualifications I seriously doubt, by the way.

Emotion aside I was less than impressed with her recent interview on 20/20. I was surprised she continued to dismiss, evade and justify some serious questions she was pointedly asked. "Ear Marks" being one significant factor, her justification for the IMMENSE Federal Funding Alaska has recieved was not a reasonable argument. That funding, by the way, pales in comparison to other States. The same could be said for why she left Wasillia deeply in debt after she left office. It WAS out of debt when she started! Her argument there just didn't cut it for me. The Bridge to Nowhere debate is a running joke, she supported it, there is no doubt. I thought she did a remarkably poor job of explaining that away. Down right dirty the way the McCain campaign has twisted the truth on THAT issue.

I find myself offended that they (McCain) thinks the American people are so stupid they can get away with such lies. My feeling is their negative campaign WILL come back to bite them in the butt. But I could be wrong, there might not be enough time for the 'people' to wake up and put 2 and 2 together. Here's my take: Lie in the campaign, you will lie in office.

Just sad.

pathetic.

Wow, you really do make it tough not to attack personally.

You have just posted exactly what you have been pontificating on and on and on ... and ... oh that's it, you are subscribing to "carpet bombing"? By your own admission (use), it must be effective.

You dared to point out the "log" in my eye. No offense, you hypocrite. Go back to work. I can't believe they need you.

There is a BIG difference posting stupid 'kool aid' pictures with no direct relation to the issues and posting COMMENTARY accompanied by political cartoon specifically addressing those issues.

Note my post above the picture, where I did indeed address these specific issues listed in the cartoon. As I watched the 20-20 interview I came away with the feeling that in fact Palin was 'covering up' and not being forth coming with her answers. Obviously, I wasn't the only one!

Her position on the "Bridge to Nowhere" has left a LOT of people thinking she is flat out 'lieing'. I believe she is!

Work? I'm the boss, I make the call on who needs what, when and if they get it. I have no Republicans that work for me, (after I find out who there voting for, JOKE!)

As a self-confessed thinker that choosing Sarah Palin as vice president is akin to choosing Attila the Hun as a peacekeeper in Georgia, all the right wingers may well decry the following. I don't even know if it is true, but it pretty much sums up MY feelings about her.

A friend of mine claims (?) to have received this from a "curling buddy"...I reproduce it uneditted and uncommented (as I am SURE the comments will flow... ). Little of it is "new news", but it tends to encapsulate the doubts we should ALL have about her, and consequently about McCain's credibility in choosing her! As I have said many times, the idea of Sarah Palin on an "International stage" is TERRIFYING! I realize this may be asking too much of the right-wingers on here, but can you step back just a little from partisan politics and THINK a little about her REAL (lack of) qualifications? As an immigrant some 25 years ago, I possibly have a broader view on how the US and our leaders are perceived in the world...so I urge you all to look beyond the boundaries of whichever town, city or state in which you live, and imagine her in the REAL world of international politics.

Surely it is time for the greatest country in the world to have the greatest leaders in the world, and PALIN is NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Pat

As an Alaskan, I am writing to give all of you some information on Sarah Palin, Senator McCain's choice for VP. As an Alaska voter, I know more than most of you about her and, frankly, I am horrified that he picked her.

The most accurate description of her is red neck. Her husband works in the oil fields of Prudhoe Bay and races snow mobiles. She is a life time member of the NRA and has worked tirelessly to allow indiscriminate hunting of wildlife in Alaska , particularly wolves and bears. She has spent millions of Alaska state dollars on aerial hunting of these predators from helicopters and airplanes, dollars that should have been spent, for example, on Alaska’s failing school system. We have the lowest rate of high school graduation in the country. Not all of you may think aerial predator hunting is so bad, but how anyone (other than Alaska wolf-haters, of which there are many, most without teeth), could think this use of funds is appropriate is beyond me. If you want to know more about the aerial hunting travesty, let me know and I will send some links to informative web sites.

She has been a strong supporter of increased use of fossil fuels, yet the McCain campaign has the nerve to say she has "green" policies. The only thing green about Sarah Palin is her lack of experience. She has consistently supported drilling in ANWR, use of coal-burning power plants (as I write this, a new coal plant is being built in her home town of Wasilla ), strip mining, and almost anything else that will unnecessarily exploit the diminishing resources of Alaska and destroy its environment.

Prior to her one year as governor of Alaska , she was mayor of Wasilla, a small red neck town outside Anchorage. The average maximum education level of parents of junior high school kids in Wasilla is 10th grade. Unfortunately, I have to go to Wasilla every week to get groceries and other supplies, so I have continual contact with the people who put Palin in office in the first place. I know what I'm talking about. These people don't have a concept of the world around them or of the serious issues facing the US.

Furthermore, they don't care. So long as they can go out and hunt their moose every fall, kill wolves and bears and drive their snow mobiles and ATVs through every corner of the wilderness, they're happy. I wish I were exaggerating.

Sarah Palin is currently involved in a political corruption scandal. She fired an individual in law enforcement here because she didn't like how he treated one of her relatives during a divorce. The man's performance and ability weren't considered; it was a totally personal firing and is currently under investigation. While the issue isn't close to the scandal of Ted Steven's corruption, it shows that Palin isn't "squeaky clean" and causes me to think there may be more issues that could come to light. Clearly McCain doesn't care.

When you line Palin up with Biden, the comparison would be laughable if it weren't so serious. Sarah Palin knows nothing of economics (admittedly a weak area for McCain), or of international affairs, knows nothing of national government, Social Security, unemployment, health care systems - you name it. The idea of her meeting with heads of foreign governments around the world truly frightens me.

In an increasingly dangerous world, with the economy in shambles in the US , Sarah Palin is uniquely UNqualified to be vice president. John McCain is not a young man. Should something happen to him such that the vice president had to step in, it would destroy our country and possibly the world to have someone as inexperienced and inappropriate as Sarah Palin. The choice of Palin is a cheap shot by McCain to try to get Hillary supporters to vote for him. when McCain introduced her today, Palin had the nerve to compare herself with Hillary and Geraldine Ferraro. Sarah Palin, you are no Hillary Clinton.

To those of you who, like me, supported Hilary and were upset that she did not get the nomination, please don't think that Sarah Palin is a worthy substitute. If you supported Hillary, regardless of what you think the media and the democratic party may have done to undermine her campaign, the person to support now is Obama, not Sarah Palin. To those of you who are independent or undecided, don't let the choice of Palin sway you in favor of McCain. Choosing her shows how unqualified McCain is to be president. To those of you who are conservative, I guess you have no choice for president. But please try to see how the poor choice of Palin tells us a great deal about McCain's judgment. While the political posturing inherent in the choice of Palin is obvious, the more serious issue is the fact that the VP is, literally, a heartbeat away from the presidency. Sarah Palin is totally and unequivocally unqualified to be vice president, let alone president.

I know this is a lengthy and emotional email, but the stakes are high. I thought it might help for all of you, regardless of political affiliation, to know something about Palin from someone who has to live with her administration in Alaska on a daily basis.

I just love unsigned letters. Snopes even cannot confirm the author. Just one persons opinion, and he/she is in the minority, since Palin has an 80% approval rating in Alaska.

80% approval rating! Holy crap. The congressional approval rating is less than 10%.

I really like the line "Sarah Palin, you are no Hillary Clinton."

All I can say is "Thank God and Country".

hmmmm...with 700,000 people in the whole state, that's a bit like boasting "all her friends like her and she doesn't sweat much for a fat girl"...hardly a ringing endorsement, but I am sure it will count for a lot at the G8 Summits!

Warren, Point Well Taken! That followed by Bush, man, are we EVER gonna see the truth again in the White House.

...maybe, with Obama, maybe...

It's a good post Glyn, 'one man's opinion', take it for what it's worth, I like it.

You gotta love it. Palin has really got the libs freaking out. I will be willing to wager that many conservatives are voting for HER with McCain being a secondary consideration. Uh, I'm one of them, and I know I cannot be the only one. Vive La Palin!

She has not changed my mind, but now that I have done a little more digging I am less impressed than I was initially. The Dems are putting out all kinds of crap about her, so they are just as bad as the GOP.

I still can't stand either party.

Ernie,

This is crap season. It will take a year to really sort through all of the made up and twisted stuff they are saying and actually find if there is any truth, some truth, or no truth to it. A nice job for those long and wet days.
