Massachusettes Freddie
Where is our favorite conservative from Massachusettes? (ok, he's the ONLY conservative in Mass).
I miss him.

I finally got a hit from youse, Moikie me boyo---and responded on regaluh e-mail----as stated there, I've been a tad busy rebuilding house(s) and refittin' me aquatic hot-rod. Non-the-fookin'-less---I'm BA-A-A-A-A-ACKKKKKKKK!
I'll try to be a more requlah visitor. As Ronnie said, it's closing in on wintah...although me boat's still in the water.
I dropped a Halloween thread which got (correctly) moved ovah heah. Right now, I'm busy burying the meager vestiges of my money in the back yard (prepping for Barack's "tax cuts"). Ar-ar-ar-ar-ooooooooooogah!!!!

Nice to have a REAL conservative back here! All these neocon types are about as bad as all the neolibs.
Make sure you have plenty of wood for that compootah (sorry - I've lived in MA all my life, and I can't even do a convincing Baastan accent when I type it!)!

Tanks
Youse guys is the greatest.
As I said to Moikie, and a few others, I have just gone through a Herculean rebuild of two houses, a boat and what all. Cobra's next! Gotta scrabble together some more cash.
Looks like I didn't get Uncle Teddy's seat (not enuff write-ins, I guess---but tanks, guys)----and since I've lost aboot 60 lbs in the past year----Teddasaur's got me two-to-one when it comes to "seats". Ar-ar-ar-ar-oooogah!
Still assimilating the (Tuesday's) recent events (ahem). Maybe I'll shove everything aboard the boat, head through the 'Canal and on to the Marquesas, Tahiti and Tonga. The boat's built for that stuff (albeit a tad "overcanvassed"*), I'll find out if I am (turn 64 3/12/09---Yikes!).
I'll sneak in a little political comment (maybe it will get in under the radar)---given yesterday's events, I find it ludicrous to hear pundits declaring that this country is still "center-right". AYFKM?
Those of us in Massachusetts get to tune in 96.9 (WTKK?) and listen to the likes of Michael Graham (hilarious) and Jay Severin (just plain WOW!). Jay's is a grenade with the pin half pulled out. Allatime! He is just hysterical (both meanings).
Carrion,
Freddie

*thefloating asterisk
*oops I meant to explain that a boat's being "overcanvassed" makes it similar to a Cobra--- ("over-engined").
BTW, soon's I get warmed up, I'll go back to duplicate (triplicate?) post-toasties....

Freddie,
Really nice to see that you got the houses and boat finished and are back to enlighten us at last. I hope that you get to take the boat on a long trip. That would be a great way to get away from things and you could spend as much time as you want at any place you like.
As for the birthday, you are still to young to start thinking about them much. When there are a couple of 1s in front of the 64 you will be near my level.

Imagine2
Gads! Yer drivin' a multi-hull! Been on a few-----I had top learn how to tack them though (ar, etc.)
You know, there's a few places 'way over in New Georgia Sound, Blanche Channel, etc. west of Guadalcanal which I'd love to poke around. Kolombangara, Gizo, even Rabaul too. Gotta do the Societies and Tonga first, though. Lemme know if you're short crew. It'll just be me, Moikie and (perhaps) a sheep or two......
Ar-ar-ar-ar-oooooooooooogah (sometimes I surprise mese'f!)!

Wool is good for damp, and cold sailing nights.........
The economy has put the brakes on my plans. I am thinking of doing the canal, and everything in the South Pacific between the Galapagos, and the Philippines. Imagine is 46ft of comfort, speed, and cold molded built in Berlin ..............i2f

Not ba-a-a-a-a-a-d!
Actually, being a protohomonid, I usually knuckle-walk around Olde Cappe Codde well into January in shorts, polo shirt and an LL Beano chamois shirt (when it dips below 40F).
Me boat's never hit 20, but it's hit 18kts (just prior to a kidney-wrenching spin-out and knock-down)-----the latter being really good at stripping lard off your arteries and heart-valves, ar-ar-ar! Being a Bob Evelyn designed "Pointin' 29" it's hysterical in many ways....Rod Johnstone stole its design for the J-30, but mine's the real deal. 28.5 loa, 12.5 beam (!!), Airex-cored hull, 44' stick, 8,000 lbs. disp., 44% lead (ballast ratio) and 2010 sq. ft. spinnaker (see reference to broaching, above)! ar-ar-ar.
If you DO indeed need crew, put me on your list. Althouogh I've lost c. 60 lbs. I can still scare mere humans off the sidewalk---I'll be in charge of crew "recruitment" and morale (former weapons officer in OUR Navy [although my former XO sometimes wondered])---Moikie will be in charge of shoulder-fired ordnance....
Chow,

All of you guys going with Freddie on his trip should be aware that he is not only a great sailor, but does it with a smaller boat than many. Not a lot of room on this one for the supplies needed for a long trip, but with the Winters they have back there I would almost be tempted to try it if it would get me to warmer places.
