Default What the heck happened?

Howdy Everybody,

Wow! Title says it all!

I am so disappointed with the Republican Party.

Really, what were ya'll thinking to pick McCain and Palin to run for POTUS and VP?

I really don't have a problem with McCain except for his age. I would have voted for him in 2000 over Lil' George or Al Gore. But, gee, he would be 72 yo when he took office. Looks like too many swing voters thought that would be too old.

Palin. Who the heck is Palin? Mike Huckabee would have been a better choice than Palin if the Repubs were trying to get the Bible crowd. Here's a news flash..........The Bible crowd was not going to vote for Obama so Palin didn't help. She actually hurt McCain. I know several swing voters that were going to vote for McCain until he picked Palin. One of the swing voters called her a "pew jumping nutjob" and said that if McCain died she would be POTUS and that he was going to vote for Obama. This person asked why didn't he pick Huckabee or Romney? Another swing voter called Palin a 2nd rate con artist that got to where she was at because of her looks and that he didn't want a bimbo in the WH.

Gee, I think my 2nd admendment rights are going to go away. Then the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.

Paul

Only two words needed to explain: Bush and economy.

The Republican party needs to stop pandering to the "moderates," grow a set again and start being CONSERVATIVE again. I'm sick of these leftist pandering centrist like McCan't and Bush. Give me a conservative to vote for again; start taking this country back from the socialists.

I assumed that the "Lounge" is a location that we can talk about anything we want as long as we don't say nasty things towards one another and make threats towards somebody or a group.
Politics is the theme of the day and a very important one at that, discussion of topics is part of our free speech system and is of great value. If these discussions are not of value to you, don't swet it, just go to other topics and enjoy the forum.
I for one appreciate these discussions and have learned a great deal from other folks that voice their opinions. Please note that I said "Opinions", with that in mind...Enjoy the discussions.

Panavia...simply move on to another thread, or forum (other than the Lounge). It has been here for several years.

Bill's comments are right on, except "free speech" is not applicable to the Lounge, a private website, as it might be Constitutionally interpreted...it is simply a place to talk about things other than Cobras.

Back on topic.

It seems apparent that no Republican was going to beat Obama during this election. Not just McCain.

I say, it was meant to happen. The economy is stuggling and is going to go through the rough patch with or without him. Give him his 4 years and maybe some good will come out of it.

Just wait a month or so once Obama takes office and you wont hear how bad things are from the networks. they crusified the republicians, rightly so but once o takses over things will automatically be better cause abc, cbs, cnn and nbc will stop telling us how bad it is.
JUST got home from a weeknd in New York City-- THERE IS NO RECESSION there- hotels totally booked, dinner only if you had a reservation and tens of thoussands of people walking and shoping.

Talking Hucksterbee? Are they kiddin'?

That motor-mouf, squirrel-toasting, religio-nut former blimp!?

Romney, albeit he failed to curb the communistas in Taxachusetts Legislature (who could?) he woulda been a better choice than the Squirrel-toaster! Yeek! That guy's a religious nut himself! At least Romney isn't some minister!

Besides, Palin was a lot easier to look at than "Ol' Hoof-in-Mouf" Biden---but probably 'way less entertaining! "C'mon Chuck! Stand up Chuck! Aw, Gawd love ya, Chuck!" or "a....three-letter word: J-O-B-S!"

Can't wait to hear about your Obamista friend when the fecal matter starts to impact the air-circulating mechanism! Keep posting! Ar-ar-ar

Chow!

Yes the election was disappointing. Not as disappointing as our politics. Since 1980, we have had in the White House. An actor and Daddy Bush, then again, then Daddy Bush, then Clinton, and again, then Sonny Bush, and again. 28 straight years of a Bush or a Clinton. That's our best?

300 million Americans, 28 years of silliness, and we get a choice of Obama or McCain.

Are we nuts?

Dan

Taxachusetts...didn't your state have to vote on repealing the income tax? How did that turn out?

Funny thing though...Ohio has higher taxes than your state!

The stupid liberal Dumbocrats voted to do nothing. There were 3 referendums and I am proud to say I voted for the losing side on each one. True liberal chicken $hits.

The reason is that most smart people stay out of politics. Not all politicians are stupid or on the take but the honest people that do get involved in politics tend to get chewed up and spit out by the "system".

When the poop hits the whirling blades, Obama will make an eloquent and stirring speech. And the poor and ignorant will feel warmed.
He has done NOTHING else for over 40 years. That is what he knows how to do. And look where it got him, WHY would he try anything different?
