I suspect the lady in question was doing little more than parroting what she's been hearing from the radical right for months now, not her original thought. In fact, I doubt many of these protesters have actually thought through the comparison, most being "sheeples" when it comes to town hall meetings and what to say, how to act, keep those "shout out's" coming.
Doesn't mean the issues are not real and serious, but the technnique of attempting to push the agenda in that manner is "fail". In that regard I thought Barney's response (or who ever might be having such a meeting) was spot on considering the on going circumstances of disrupting town hall meetings.

Does it matter whose thought it is/was if she believes in it? And neither you nor I can say that she is right or wrong in her assessment of the present administration.
Do you really believe it is fine for an elected 'official' to be rude to the public?
Should it be OK for police to be rude too? After all they get paid a pittance compared legislators and they take more abuse.
Frank can mouth off to his boss, the public and that's fine with you. Yet you poop your diapers if someone calls you a liberal. Is that flexibility?

That woman was one of the Town Hall "zombies."
As much as I think Frank is a caricature of himself, he was dead right not to give her any courtesy of a response.
...and I don't recall seeing Ernie "poop his diapers" recently either. What's that about?

If I was trying to hold a reasonable and logical conversation with someone it would matter to me if their thoughts were simply "cut and paste" from someone else or if they had their own original ideas, opinions, constructive criticism, etc.
Some folks are very sincere-ly mistaken in what they believe. I'm NOT drawing a comparison to Islamist beliefs and exteme right wing thinking here, but Islamist are certainly very sincere-ly mistaken, for example.

It's funny how the Town Halls have become useless forums when conservatives (or just plain ol' folk who disagree with Obama) show up in numbers. When union folks packed them, it was democracy in action (I forget what the issue was). Code Pink? Concerend citizens. That Cindy chick outside of Bush's ranch? Folk hero! Conservatives at Town Hall's? Rabble rousers, astroturf, neo-nazis, militia members.
Now, boosters of Health Care Reform are touting it as a Moral Imperative. But it is immoral to spend our country into further debt.
Medicaide, Medicare, SS are all broke. And Obama seems to believe this package will work. Based on what successes?
Wanting everyone covered is gonna end up like wanting everyone in their own home. A big bubble somewhere that will eventually explode.

Oh puh-lease!!
There was a large contingent on this forum who called me (and some others) all kinds of unsavoury things for daring to question the policies of the Bush administration during wartime Some were even pushing for a Philip Nolan punishment. We are still at war, so how dare you question the policies of Imperator Obama/Bush!!! Friggin hypocrites...
Oh, I know the Bush administration is history, and I should just get over it, but unlike most on this forum I actually manage to remember that those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. Why are so many in this country just unable to learn from mistakes?

Steve makes an excellent point: we seem to have forgotten Carter, and here we are repeating his horrendous mistakes with BHO.
I think barney frank (lack of capitals intentional) was wrong. An elderly lady voiced her opinion, regardless of what inspired it he should have listened and either ignored her or moved on politely. The way I was raised, elders warranted respect whether or not we agreed. Simple. What does bother me is that bf talks, points fingers, and lays blame for the economic mess but never seems to realize HE is a major reason. His avoidance of responsibility speaks volumes about his lack of character and narcissistic outlook.

Let's see,
Bush had very little that prepared him to be President, but he was Governor of a very large state. It wasn't enough.
BO has NO preparation to even be a middle management flunky, and it shows-------Daily!!
BHO is ignoring the Constitution and bankruptcy laws. Bush ignored the Constitution too. BO is doing him one better with the bankruptcy laws.
BHO is ignoring the will of the people. Bush did too.
BHO is spending money like a drunkin' sailor. Bush increased the National Debt by $5 Trillion over 8 years. BO looks to increase the National Debt by $23 Trillion IF given 8 years.
We ARE repeating history!!!
And we are condemned if we don't rein BO in.

Several things wrong with that, I saw her picture, she didn't appear to be elderly or infirm in any way.
Her "opinion"? I think not, little more than copy/paste of what's been flying around the internet, print and various media groups for awhile.
Her QUESTION was, why did the speaker support the NAZI like programs of the administration? What kind of question is that exactly? How do you ever respond to such a pitiful query? To even attempt to answer the question lends credence to the idea that the administration policy's echo those of the Nazi's. A comparison I really get tired of. It shows a complete and fundamental ignorance of the Nazi regime. It's a disgusting comparison at the very best.
Her "question" doesn't even deserve to be acknowledged as she framed it, regardless of who the speaker at the meeting was.

I don't know about you, but I think I remember something about the Nazi regime asking the general public to act as informants, to notify the government about other people who voiced opinions or other propoganda controversial to the views of the current Nazi regime. At which time later, these people were rounded up for a once in a lifetime vacation.
Maybe similar in some ways to the recent white houses request for info on people spreading "false health care info", like Obama only spreads the truth?

Are suggesting the current administration is following such a plan? Let me ask you something, "On what PLANET do you spend most of your time?"

And yet, we were raised to be respectful, yes? Even when someone else steps out of line; or does that not apply via political affiliation?
Her "opinion"? I think not, little more than copy/paste of what's been flying around the internet, print and various media groups for awhile.
You miss the point. Again..her opinion..and she is entitled, no matter how off center we think it is.

Very simply: I would say something along the lines of most politicians in similar circumstances: "Ma'am, I find your content & reference misguided and beneath a response. Move on."
Her "question" doesn't even deserve to be acknowledged as she framed it, regardless of who the speaker at the meeting was.

I suppose the BHO cult is feeling the pressure and can be forgiven their rather illuminating prickliness. I suppose free speech to them only applies to speech they approve of.
Rather odd that the liberal defenders did so little while GB was being ravaged daily.

At least the first part of it.
Let me ask you something, what drugs (legal and illegal) are you currently taking?
