Mexico Legalizes Drug Possession

The maximum amount of marijuana considered to be for “personal use” under the new law is 5 grams — the equivalent of about four marijuana cigarettes. Other limits are half a gram of cocaine, 50 milligrams of heroin, 40 milligrams for methamphetamine and 0.015 milligrams of LSD.

They're not pushing it on the US anywhere near so much as consumers in the US are setting up a demand for it. This will have NO impact on drug trafficking and use north of the border. If the demand for illegal drugs was curbed then the production and supply would die a natural death.
