Fire Threat Eases

Finally some good news as the fire threat to the Telescope and towers on the peak where Hubble and Einstein studied the stars has eased off but it isn't over just yet.

This fire has burned many miles along one of SoCal's favorite curvy "Cobra" roads, Angeles Crest Highway (Route 2) and Angeles Forest Highway. Fortunately the fire has not yet reached Newcomb's Ranch, a favorite bar, lunch- and rest-stop 26 miles above La Canada.
I could see the flames of the western edge of this fire about a mile down my street, across our little town of Sunland.

Well lets hope they can get it stopped before it does more damage. I heard they now think someone set it. Don't know if that is a fact or not as all I saw the Fire Captain they interviewed say, was it was not set by lightning but by some other means.
