Hi Bruce totally agree- our cars are not original so I don't have a problem putting a big chevy in it!
Mind you, I find the guys on here very helpful-even if we don't have the 'right' motor!

On the hood clearance problem there are not a lot of choices. You up with a bigger hood scoop, or you go down with a low rise manifold. I don't think there is any wiggle room as far as engine placement
My sentiments exactly. I tortured myself when I made the original decision 30 yrs ago when I dropped in a LS6 - 454 Chevy. Repowered 20 yrs later w/502. Lousy running Chevy will out run a good running Ford!
I am happy to see another non Ford guy. To hell with the "Ford only guys!!! " It is not a real COBRA no matter how much you want it to be, it is a Hot Rod that has the shape of a cobra.. And I don't care how many rivets the real ones had around the hood scope or what the color paint code was in 1965!!!
