Rick, my name is Mike and I also have an older Contemporary I purchased twelve years ago. The car had been wrecked and I have been working on it ever since. I managed to get it back on the road within six months of purchasing it. I am trying to get a VIN plate by the same outfit that did yours however, they say they need your name as well as a picture of it to duplcate it. The reason for your name, so they can find the paper work in there files. Would you have a problem either communicating directly with them (Teresa is the secretary I spoke to) or, emailing me the info I need? They just might have a picture of your plate on file.
thanks, Mike aka woodbeam
HI Rick,
Maybe, as a member of the Cobra Club and owner of the same type of car I am interested in (HI TECH 289), you are so kind to answer some questions.
I've found on Ebay a blue HI TECH 289 for sale. The auction is already finished, but I wanna get in touch with the Ebay seller.
Please have a look at CC member 1985 CCX latest post 15th of June.
My questions are: The front wheels seem to be out of the arch center in comparison to your beautiful blue car. Is this maybe an effect of an awkward way of taking the pictures or do I have to take care because this might be a tricky sign that something is wrong at its car front.
I am sure you appreciate the 289s way of handling, so maybe you can give me a kind of description or tell me your experiences with a look at the handling of this car in general and regarding curved roads, as we have wonderful routes here in this area.
I am looking forward to receiving your answer.
Kindest regards from sunny Spain, Yours Rico (Swiss)
