Hurricane
Hi gentlemen:
I'm new to the forum and am considering a Hurricane 427. Has anybody had any experience with them?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
I have a Hurricane and am very pleased with it. The kit is very complete and all the components are top notch. The customer service and support they provide is second to none. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to go with the Hurricane.

Couldn't have said it better, but I'll add to it,... the ride quality is great!

Hurricane 427
Jim, i feel the same way about the Hurricane kit. Very complete, high quality and a very good build manual. But most important, in my view, has been their customer service. Mike Arps and Rich Burroughs are top notch guys who really love what they do. They are always available for questions - dumb or not - and stand behind their product. There also is a great owners forum that is packed with great info and a lot of guys available to share and answer questions. I'm 4 months into the build and couldn't be happier.

Jim, my money stash is not big enough yet, but I have decided on a Hurricane. I like the entire car being delivered in boxes (minus drivetrain and wheels), and I am eager to put it together. I've always wanted to do this, but without the donor car ordeal. I've read the Hurricane postings here and at their website and am pretty excited. Now if I can just save that other $14,000.....
I told the wife the kit costs $15,000, and she is ok with it. I didn't mention that I would have to spend another $10,000 on engine, trans, wheels, paint, and tools. I'll break the news gently AFTER I start putting mine together.

I am sure you are right, I will likely need another 15-20 grand to make it like I want it in the end. The engine and transmission alone are going to put me over $10,000.

I love the hurricane kit. It's definately a huge bang for the buck. I will admit I am way more into this financially that I oringally planned. I figure 45k when I am done with it.

I haven't bought a Hurricane yet but am close. However, I have asked a lot of dumb questions via email and I have always gotten an answer back and its always timely and spot on. (and they don't laugh at me) Great website, great forum and from the comments posted by owners and builders, all sounds great to me.
