Hi all. I was there as well and did have a great time, although I would like to have seen some vendors show up! Oh well, maybe next year. Any word on the guy in the blue and white Backdraft that lost his front wheels going down the track? I touched bases with him a couple of times afterward and he was still trying to figure out the problem.

Beautiful photos Erik. It was good to meet you out there. Man did we bake on that hot asphalt! That is a great launch photo of #58. I did not get to see the Ford truck fire but it looks like it was pretty exciting from that photo.

Erik:
I said it in the local forums, and I'll say it again: you are an outstanding photographer. Thank you very much for coming to cover our event, and withstanding absolutely brutal weather to get these shots!

Who's idea was it to have this thing in the middle of July anyway??

Thanks to all who came out and participated in this event. We welcome any and all feedback so we can start planning next years (which will NOT be in July or August).

He's a member of MACC as well as here on Club Cobra, so he will probably post a follow up to this himself. All of us feel really bad about what happened, because he just got the car, it was his first club and racing event, and we all basically peer-pressured him into running it down the track. The good thing is, he wasn't hurt, the person he was racing wasn't hurt, and the car sustained only very minor (and easily repairable) body damage. He was able to drive it home.

We only hope that this hasn't discouraged him from coming out to have fun with us...

So do you guys have a local forum? Doesn't seem like a whole lot gets posted here. I showed up at the track for a bit. Spoke to one or two of you. I am taking delivery of hurricane motorsports cobra this week and am looking forward to joining the club.
I have a 700 hp+ Sti I would of liked to take out to the track to see what it runs here in Kansas. In Atlanta it runs low 11's on street tires.

It's for sale at the moment so I don't take it out much.

Dan:
We don't have our own MACC local forum (yet), and only a few of us have become accustomed to using this one here on Club Cobra. A few of us are also on local forums such as KCSR.org, PurposeBuilt.org, and KC-Mustangs.com.

I can't remember if I spoke with you or not, but regardless, thanks for coming out last weekend. Also, congratulations on the new Hurricane! You don't have to wait to join the club until you get the car - you are welcome any time. The guys in MACC are the greatest bunch of car folks I know, and we are always doing something.

In fact, we are all headed up to Iowa this weekend to participate in the open track event at the Mid-America Motorplex. It's being hosted by the Mustang Club of Central Iowa, but all makes and models are welcome. That STI would be right at home!

Thank you for the compliments! The photos will remain online for another week for ordering and then be deleted to make room for future events. You can contact me via email @ erik@erikandersondesigns.com or call at 816-813-6323.
Thank you again!
