My Midstates has a 400 bowtie bored .030 over with a 350 crank, race head, comp cam, roller rockers, 750 holley, TRW pistons, Aluminum Muncie 4-sp, Schaffer Aluminium flywheel, performance clutch. a screamer.
Pearl white with a burgundy stripe. Currently installing midstates hard top.

7 year old Midstates 427 s/c. I'm the
second owner of the car. Ford 460 block, bored .030 over, Crane cam, Double row timing chain, Edelbrock performance manifold,
Holley 4 bbl carb, (formerly fuel injected,
the Projection gave up the ghost last month!)
MSD 6AL ignition, Midstates Headers and
side-pipes, rebuilt Ford toploader, solid
9" rear with Detroit-locker spool, Koni racing shocks on 5 bar rear end, Mustang II
with coil-overs on the front. Wide BFG T/A
rubber with Compmotive wheels. Car is painted
1993 Ford Teal Blue with "standard" dual 427
white stripes. Black ceramic coated pipes,
chrome roll bar, black interior.
Midstates has supported me 100%, even though I'm not the original owner. Bob Kallio
has always been happy to answer my questions
and offer advice. A superior company and
a superior product...what more can I say?

My Lonestar Classic is a 289, with cam, windsor heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold and 4bl carb, MSD 6al, tremec 5spd, 9" rear end. My cobra may not be the fastest snake around, but so far I have not met a 5.0 on the street that didn't watch my tail lights.....

The car is metalic silver with red strips and red interior. Was blt as a father / son project in 1998-99.

I just brought my Midstates body and frame home from Nebraska (I live in North Carolina). Great product and great people!

I showed up, with a trailer (and 4wd truck), in the middle of a snow storm to pick up my car. Things were closed down due to the snow, and the employees couldn't make it in, but Bob met me at the shop and we loaded up. After a plant tour I headed back to NC the next day. I'm very pleased with everything!

Former Midstates owner. Yes, I would buy another one without question. My car was nine years old when I sold it. Aside from some road rash, the body was perfect. Not a crack anywhere. Strongest body on the market.

I had a 351C w/4V heads. Toploader, MII front, 9" Ford rear, with panhard bar and four-link.

Absolute ball to drive and Bob Kallio is the best!!

My North Carolina Midstates project is coming together at a pace dictated by the usual demands of family and job. I have the round tube frame, 1970 351W with the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads/cam/intake setup, Tremec 5 speed, PS Engineering wheels, Yokahama tires, 4 wheel coilovers and disc brakes. The plan is to be driving in 2001.

I completed my Midstates in the summer of 2000 after an 18 month build. The car was not hard to build and the people at Midstates were there to answer every question along the way. I started th
e build with a bare frame and a raw engine block and assembled every componet along the way

It is powered by a 390 FE,aluminum heads, RPM intake,holley 750dp, David Kee road race toploader,4 wheel discs,coilovers at the corners,compomotive wheels,dark blue w/ white stripes.

I clocked about 1200 trouble free miles this summer. Midstates makes a wonderfull car and I would not hesitate to reccomend them to others.

It's finally streetable !!!! We just took the first cruise around the block and i'm still grinning. We still have a few bugs to work out but what a car !!! 460 backed with a 5 speed.

Chevy 350 bored 30 over with 6" forged rods and pistons. Aluminum Edelbrack performer RPM heads and intake. Holley 750 CFM 4 barrel, MSD 6AL. Tremac
5 speed, Ford 9", 4 link suspension, Aldan Coil Overs, Mustang II tubular A arms.

BAER 13" 4 piston caliper brakes on front and 11" rear.

Solid Car and Solid Company, I would buy from Bob Kallio again and again.

I got my Midstates about 10 years ago.It
has 88 corvette suspension,SB chevy,fuel
injected,6 spd Trans. Its an outstanding
car.Solid as the day I bought it.Everytime
I walk past it in the garage I smile.Its
got 12,000 miles on it and all were happy
miles.Dealing with Bob Kalio was one of the
best business expierences I ever had.I wish
he made GT40's then I wouldn't have to do all this research, I'd know where to go!
In my opinion you would be hard pressed to
find a better combo of Quality,service and
friendship.
Hey Bob, hows that logo doing. Need any

Recived my Midstates two years ago.Still moving forward as money allows.Custom body and square tube frame,basic kit.Front end has tublar control arms.Hedits steel spindle,Coleman racing front hub modified to accept 12 3/16 rotors with billet superlites. Colemans bumpsteer kit and power mustang two steering.Going with the four bar on the rear. Custom 9 inch housing with Dutchmam axles. Strange nodular case,Truetrac diff. 11 3/4 rotors willwood billet superlites calipers.Stroked 351w to 427. bought cheap so im going to try it. Shoud make good power just no rpm.Im very pleased with my cobra and its quality and its been a pleasure to deal with Bob and the staff

I am happy to see that there is a Midstates owner's forum. Here is some info on the car we built. It took 9 months and building the car was a second full time job for both my Son and I. We picked the car up from Bob in late Sept '99 and the car was completed and at the alignment shop in May '00.

It was very nice working with Bob and the rest of the Midstates team during the build-up of my car. The quality of the body and the parts supplied as part of the kit were exceptional. The car turned out great and draws much attention at any of the cruises and car shows I attend. I was able to put 2200 miles on the car during its first summer and I am anxious for Spring to come.

The running gear that I selected includes:
-Full Roller 351W (10.5:1 compression) with Aluminum SVO GT-40 Cylinder Heads.
-Manual Tremec 5 speed Trans
-9" Ford rear end with 3.70:1 Ratio with a True-trac Limited Slip Differential.
-Compomotive wheels
-Vintage Air, Air Conditioning

I have a Elegant Motors,(long ago out of business) fiber glass, Cobra replica, that I purchased back in 1987, this project sat for a long time. It's mounted on a 1979 Corvette frame with a Chevy 454 LS6 crate motor(this is also now a collector engine), and a turbo 400 trans. I recently retired, moving to Florida and the car is completed to the point it has been registered in the state of Florida as a 65 Cobra Roadster. I have body work and a paint job left but things are looking good.

We got our Midstates in March of 98. We bought it as a roller, brought it back to Colorado and began our plans to transform it into more of a racecar than a street car.

Powered by a Gessford Machine engine 428, Dove roller valve train, slightly modified bottom end, 10.2 to 1 compression, switched to fuel injection, solid state ingnition multi port injection, fully laptop programable software. IRS rear suspension, Mustang 2 tubular front suspension, modified spindles, lowered two inches all around, running 275/40/17 front and 315/35/17 on rear. All pulled to a stop via a dana lite wilwood 4 piston caliper brakes.

Bob Kallio is a pleasure to work with. If and when I decide to build another cobra, it will be from Bob!

Mine's a 1997 Midstates powered by a 460. It has a toploader 4spd and 8.8 diff. The color is Mustang Chrome yellow w/black stripes. http://my.voyager.net/littlejoe. My first experience with cobras was not a pleasurable one. I was building a CMC cobra and got part way done when they went out of business. I sold what I had and then went to Midstates.
Bob Kallio is a great guy and I'm happy that I bought my car from him. If anyone reads this who's thinking about buying a Midstates Cobra, go ahead and buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I am building a Midstates Cobra. Currntly in primer. I have built a 427 side oiler w/ single four barrel carb, top loader 4 speed, Ford 9" rear end. I changed the deck lid license area to accommodate a US license tag w/o cutting on the tag. I also added a riveted-on hood scoop, reversed the inside door latches so they would appear OEM, changed the cowl hoop structure so OEM gauge placement was possible. I have designed my own frame and chassis components, air duct work, wiring harness, fan assemblies and a few other things. Midstates builds a very good car. I just can't leave anything alone. I am putting the final touches on a friends Midstates Cobra that has the same modifications as mine. This great car can be viewed at my website: 427cobra.com
