5/18 Meeting and 5/19 Drive
The Mile Hi Cobra Club had a good week end. We had 30 people at the Zang's meeting on Saturday. Good discussions and we have a lot going on. Vic Cooper was very informative and everyone enjoyed his knowledge. We need to form a group who will work on getting the laws in Colorado changed to be like Calif or get us included with the street rods in the Colorado laws. The way I understand it, in California, you are titled as the year that you built the car to be a replica of. I.E. 1965 Cobra. In Colorado this works if your car looks like it was build in 1949 or earlier. It sounds as if we might have a chance. Any way, need some folks to work on this.
Sunday we had 10 Cobras, 2 Austin Healey's (Sebrings), 1 TR6 and 1 Nissan (Who invited them?) Left Foss Drug at 9:00 AM (If you go to Karl's Drives - Be on Time because we leave on time). Had a great drive. The folks in Black Hawk and Central City got a good look as we drove in. Great drive over Peak to Peak and then a great lunch at Estes Park Brewery. Some people went back the same way and others went down Big Thompson. Have I mentioned that it was a great day. Weather in the 60's and 70's all day. Not too hot or cold. Karl - Great job (I think I used the word "Great" enough).
I stopped at Clyde Hodge's Classic Auto in Berthoud. This would make an excellent trip. Also in Berthoud is a famous restaurant for Fried Chicken (Wayside Inn) I will set up something in the future for a drive and lunch.
