Default Hey Colorado Cobras!

Just read something interesting in the latest issue of Conde Nast Traveler.

Seems the author was driving a new Audi RS6 from Colorado Springs to Aspen, down to Telluride and back east on 149 from Lake City when he arrives in Creede...

"...where a dozen Shelby Cobras--a car-club run of some sort--snort and bellow their way past me onto Highway 149 back toward Lake City."

I assume with lead times and given the lack of snow, as well as when an RS6 would've been available to the press, the drive must've been during the summer. I checked the Mile High events and nothing seemed to match.

Must've been some of you guys having some fun...and now you're in print!

Hello Jamo,
Dick Thompson, President of MileHi Cobras, chaired our annual club meeting on January 17th. He has thrown it out to the club members to "host" a drive each month and every month starting in May of 2004.
Furthermore plans are being put together for Cruise Colorado, a weekend long event to cruise along the Continental Divide this summer!
Keep an eye on Local Clubs link for the Cruise Colorado event this summer.
Regards,
Don "the office guy"

Jamo,

It was the Cobra 1000. It consisited of 14 original CSX2000 and CSX3000 cars. CSX3104 was part of the pack. It was a ton of fun. Interestingly it was also run at the same time as the Colorado Grand. We passed each other going in opposite ways. I will try and post some pics later.

Tom

Well that is cool!

Just don't expect Cobra coverage when I'm reading a travel mag.
