MN Newbie
Thought I'd introduce myself...
I live in Minnetonka, and been chasing the cobra dream since I was a kid. The hot wheels car just wasn't doing it anymore....
Alas, FFR #2834 is born! I have parts all over the place... the front tires are "on the ground", I'm working on the rear and popping rivets, etc.
The engine is a 302 bored .040 with Hyper pistons and trickflow heads. The transmission is a performance C4 built by Jackson Racing. The rearend is a 3.08 locker. I got the tube control arms and 3-link rear suspension with coil-over.
I'm having a blast, and can't wait for spring!
Hope to meet some of you soon.
Odell
P.S.: Where's a good place to get the body work done in the Twin Cities?

Odell,
Welcome! This is a great place for information and entertainment.
Glad to see that I won't be the only one with an automatic. The wait is driving me nuts, witnessed the engine dyno test on Wednesday, the car should arrive within two weeks, then I'll be busting butt to get it done by May.

Automatic
Yeah, I plan to drive this thing a lot. With the small footbox I can't see pushing on a clutch.
Let me know when you get the kit, I'd love to see it.

Howdy Motorhead! How's the build coming? I haven't really started mine yet. What type of build you doing? Donor, part donor, or new? I'm kind of doing an inbetweener

Pretty much a no-donor, although I'm rounding up a few used parts here and there. I decided to buy new brakes (kinda important piece) and it cost me $1800 - ouch! Here's the link to my photos: http://members17.clubphoto.com/odell...r-bbbe-1.phtml

Motorhead..I am also a 'newbie' as I am working on my first build. I live in Eagan, and was very excited to see about 20 Minnesota Cobras gather in Rosemount last summer. I very much want to keep in touch with other local builders in the area... it appears that you and I are at about the same point...my wife and I are having a blast working on our 'toy'!! Drop me a line at tomnlola@attbi.com sometime....hope to hear from you! Tom

Welcome to the club guys. We are getting a lot of interest in the Minnesota club which is exciting for everyone. I didn't get to make it to the gathering last summer but I'm excited to attend this year. If you guys need any help with your build let me know, I've built about 75 Cobras in the last 13 years so I can generally help with any questions or problems.

I am also new to the club, I live in Bloomington, MN. I have been reading a lot of article on Cobra. It's a great website to get information on parts and build. Sam.

Sam, there has been some discussion on this site about the Street Beast cars. The only ones I've seen are the 34 Fords. Do you actually have your car? Tell me how the fiberglass and parts look. All the former companies related to Street Beasts didn't deliver as promised and were eventually shut down. I'm just curious if they are delivering a decent product.

If you haven't found anyone to do your body work, send me an e-mail at nengel@mn.rr.com. I have quit a few projects going but I might be able to get it done by april.
