I suddenly got very busy at the shop, tax time, I have a BMW meet coming up next weekend that I've been preparing the car for and the wife is getting closer to baby delivery time, so I've had no time to do any building. I did order all of the material for the billet control arms and a new Sherline milling vise, but I've done nothing but bolt it to the mill. I'll get back to the workbench soon, but probably not before the first of May...

Still been busy at the shop and at home, as well! The wife is due with our second baby on June 4th and she wanted a garden built and planted, mulch put down, grass sodded, etc! Honey-do lists galore, Lol! I will get back into the workshop soon, as I had to do some machining for aluminum wheel spacers and hub extensions at the end of last month and it gave me the itch something fierce! Updates soon, I promise...

On another forum he's said that the family had another baby, his business got very busy and he will probably begin again in the new year.

Thanks Chas. If you have a link to share for the other forum that would be great. I don't mind following this guy around (in a non-stalking sort of way, that is ) and enjoying his work.

It was a while ago and sort of 'don't look for me for a while' posts. If I come across him again, I'll post here.

With a new baby at home we may not see Garey for about 18 years. Hope I'm wrong.

Nah. The first six months they just eat, poop and sleep. There is still hope.

Mine just ate and pooped. No sleep, at night anyway.

Today they're teenagers. NOW all they do is SLEEP...and eat... and poop.

I really enjoyed relooking at this thread this morning...the craftsmanship, time and especially patience are amazing. I have a 427 street model and anotherAMF Kit (I think) to rework into an Autokraft that have gathered dust for 40 and 5 years respectively, and they reqiuire only assemly and minor changes via a knife and putty. This individuals craftsman working in copper is amazing...the frame alone could become an incredable " welcome to the AC factory" scene with only black paint....amazing work.

Hey guys, all of your speculation is close to correct... The wife had the baby on May 31st, a girl we named Victoria Lynne. She has been a polar opposite of our first daughter and up until the last few weeks, she was up 3-4 times a night minimum, screaming for food, every night. Doh! So, coupled with severe sleep deprivation and business being good, it's been a fast 6 months, Lol! I look at the chassis every morning as I prepare my 2 dog's breakfast, so it's never far from my thoughts, but alas, I have not had time to even touch it. We closed on a new shop in early November and have been furiously burning the candle at both ends to get the new location ready as quickly as possible. As a matter of fact, we just poured 10 yards of concrete this morning... I'm beat... I also have a full size project car now, an 88 E30 M3 which is being gone over top to bottom and getting a BMW V8/5 speed swap, to boot. That has been on the back burner for a month now, though, but I do want to get back to it and into the workshop to continue on the Cobra build, as well. Ah... too many projects and not enough time. I did get an email from David Kirkham at the end of November, which I need to follow up on, but I have not done so yet. After I get past New Years, life will start to get back to normal, but until then, I'm overbooked... haha.

I'll keep checking back to keep everyone posted...

Thanks for keeping the light on for me,

Garey

Well, a long time away and alot of changes in my life, but all good and a small update to this build of all builds... Way back when I posted last, we had just had daughter #2, Victoria and what a first year with her that was! She's 4 now and has a 2 year old younger sister, to boot! The youngest's name is Sofia, so now I have 3 daughters... Aveline, Victoria and Sofia. Unbelievable! The wife and I bought a 115 year old Victorian house, some 30 miles away from our previous home in September of 2012 and of course I went in to home renovation mode, as soon as we closed on it. That was almost 2 years ago now and I have yet to get my modelling workshop set-up at the new house, although I do have almost a full cabinet shop set-up already, for all of the renovation work I've been doing to the house. I closed my business in October of 2013 and went to work for a company closer to our new house doing high-end restoration work on vintage Ferraris, Jags, etc and that has been a great change for me, but alas, still no modelling. The good news is that I do have plans to get my workspace set-up soon and once I do, I will begin working in scale again, albeit at a slightly more relaxed pace. I just watched a bunch of the Kirkham University videos on Youtube this weekend and dropped in here to have a look around, so I thought I would give a quick update. Don't anyone hold their breath waiting for me to finish this project, but I do plan on picking up where I left off and continuing in the not too distant future. Just thought I'd post this up for anyone who is interested...

Garey

Amazing work! When I was a kid my dad decided to scratch build a sandrail and he and I made about 6 or 7 models from welding rods trying to figure out what we liked. Trust me they didn't look this good!
