Default Anne Francis as Honey West in a 289 Cobra

I know this thread is old, but I enjoy seeing certain cars I like in the
movies or on TV.

I had a thing for Anne Francis since seeing her in the Forbidden Planet
and on the Twilight Zone a couple of times. Of course, I was a small
boy then.

About 4 years ago METV was showing Honey West episodes again
late at night circa midnight. This was being broadcast OTA (over the
air or antenna TV).

Yeah, I said to myself, I'll watch these again. And then my jaw dropped
when I saw her and her sidekick sporting around sometimes in a 289
Cobra!

PS Yes, the series has been posted before in this thread, but not which
episodes and where to find them in the episode.

Forrest,

I like your avatar of the Shelby School of High Performance Driving trainer Sprite. It's coming up for auction by Mecum in Harrisburg at the end of July: https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/PA0...dster/4-Speed/

Rick,

Only a Healey enthusiast would recognize it. You're the first!

I knew about the auction coming up. I recognize some discrepancies in
the Mecum car. It makes me wonder if it really is what the seller claims
it is.

Information on the cars is rather scarce. I'd go to the auction just to take
more pictures. Is that a dry sump?

You have quite a hot rod there. I like SBFs. I like Healeys. Did the Explorer
upside down manifold not work for you on the driver's side?

Default Anne Francis in Honey West driving 289 Cobra

In 1965, movie stars could afford cobras with phones in their car.

I was going to post about this BBC documentary, but two members have beat
me to it, 2-2 1/2 years ago.

Not mentioned here is that classic, "A Swinging Summer," filmed in Lake Arrowhead, CA in '64. One of the protagonists drives a blue 289.

A " friend " of mine once saw a quality 'B ' grade porno with a Cobra in it !
Surely that was a real one !

There was a guy over at the FFCars site for a while that had a Daytona and was in porn, called himself Jack Lawrence. Pretty sure his car 'starred' in at least one of his flicks.

My FFR was in a Lifetime movie called 'Maneater' (or something similar). I've never found the movie on line to actually see it.

Ha! No but it was a chick flick.

Had the blonde from 'Scrubs' in it and was shot (at least my part) in Scottsdale.

That was a Cobra that Carroll Shelby lent to Steve McQueen to drive as his personal car. FWIW, its CSX 2174

Nope, that is not CSX2174. I don't think this one has been ID'd. This is a worm & sector car.
CSX2174 would have side vents, different emblems, wider fender flares and 6" wires.

There is also a movie titled "Where the boys meet the girls" that came out in 1965 and features a red 289 Cobra.

The pic I just grabbed off the internet.

The car in the movie was CSX2174, as far as I can tell. It fits the pattern of McQueen using his personal vehicles in his movies.

Or maybe I'm misreading the history. The early cobra pictured was also the one in the movie. It's written kind of squirrelly and insinuates it is CSX 2174.

I can see where I have a mistaken understanding based on how it was phrased.
